I have the same problem with birds(maybe we should bet bird teams today like the Orioles and Blue Jays-lol).
Seriously, what I did to get rid of the problem(I have irritating cooing birds which start cooing around 7:00 in the morning) was to buy a sound machine(ocean waves, rain, etc.) and simply turn it on;it drones out the birds and allows me to go back to sleep;it works like a charm.
