ASHTON
Pro Basketball:
1 Unit on Memphis Grizzlies -10½ -110
NBA FREEBIE: MEMPHIS The Grizzlies were dumped in Minnesota last night for their first loss in 7 games failing to cover for the first time in 8. They will be welcomed back to the Pyramid where they’ve won 7 of their last 9 covering all 9. Included in the streak was a dismantling of these Cavs at Gund by 26 points. It amazes me anytime I see a Cleveland game where the Cavs have more points than their opponent. Utah should be ashamed of the performance they put out in Cleveland on Sunday as by some unknown reason the Jazz were smoked by 27 points in the game where scumbag Ricky Davis attempted the shot at his own hoop for his triple-double. The Cavs have actually dropped 7 of their last 8 laying DD.

College Basketball:
3 Units on Alabama Birmingham -5½ -110
UL Lafayette has played exactly one basketball game in the past 21 days. That was their first round elimination against lowly Denver on March 8th in the Sun Belt tournament in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I can’t bla! me the Ragin’ Cajuns if they are a little rusty tonight in preparation for UAB. The Blazers are now 7-0 ATS in all tournament games this year and narrowly missed a dance invitation last Saturday morning losing to Louisville at Freedom Hall by just five points. This came after consecutive wins in three straight days against Charlotte, Marquette, and St. Louis. Who could blame the Blazers if they weren’t a bit fatigued by the time they met the Cardinals on their home floor. It is these two scheduling situations that I believe gives UAB a huge advantage tonight. “The Animal” isn’t an expert on the Sun Belt conference but we do know the league champion known as Western Kentucky is in the NCAA tournament despite losing their best player Chris Marcus to injury. That’s not a glowing endorsement for the rest of the field from the Sun Belt. UL Lafayette is 1-7 ATS on Wednesday nights since 1997 and 1-5 ATS this year following four consecutive games as a favorite.
