Pacers @ Pistons (1-0) -- Detroit was 24-40 from line in Game 1, was +8 in turnovers, held Indiana to 39.5% from floor, as home team won for first time in five series meetings this season. Pacers on road for third game in a row after Game 7 win in Boston; they're 0-4 in playoffs if they allow more than 85 points. Pacers must improve on 3-12 shooting from behind the arc (after 48-124 in the Boston series, 38.7%).

Mavericks @ Suns (1-0)-- Phoenix now 5-0 in playoffs, with home wins by 11,5,25 points; they're averaging 114 ppg in postseason. Three of four Dallas playoff setbacks are by 12 or more points. Suns shot 52.3% from floor in Game 1, had 28-12 edge in free throws tried, and made 12 of 22 treys, as their remarkable shooting continues.

              13) Looks like teen hoop sensation Greg Oden, who would undoubtedly be the #1 pick in next June's NBA Draft (hell, he'd be the first pick in this year's draft, as a high school junior) is going to attend college.

              12) With the 20-year old age limit a probability, if Oden goes to college, he might have to attend for two years. Seems that the kid likes Math, though, and he'd like to go to college with his longtime buddy, Mike Conley, Jr (son of the 1992 Olympic Gold Medalist- long jump).

              11) College coaches were so sure that Oden was going straight to the pros that no one was recruiting him; his high school coach had to call guys and suggest they start recruiting.

              10) 46-year old Rickey Henderson has signed on with the San Diego Sea Dawgs of the new Golden Baseball league, and independent league in California and Arizona. The team plays home games at Tony Gwynn Stadium at San Diego State.

              9) It is kind of cool that Henderson still plays; it is doubtful any major league club would hook him up, but he seems to enjoy it. That's what life is about, having fun, right?

              8) Manager of the Dawgs is former Padre catcher Terry Kennedy, whose dad was the first manager of the Oakland A's (1968) and was also one of the "College of Coaches" who ran the Cubs for a year in the early 60's.

              7) There will be a team in the GBL made up entirely of Japanese players; all 90 of their games will be road contests.

              6) The hideous baseball team in Bronx will probably release oft-injured pitcher Karsay Thursday; he makes $6 million this year, so no one will trade for him. They also owe Giambi $80 million, as it grows increasingly apparent that he can't play well anymore. One guy, $80 million, and they probably would like to release him. Way to go fellas.........

              5) One sentence you never want to hear from dentist: "If it's not numb enough, just let me know."

              4) You add up the contributions of the guys A's got in return for Hudson/Mulder, and it is not a pretty sight.

              3) You think you had a bad day? Aaron Goodwin was fired as Lebron James' agent today, after negotiating $135 million worth of contracts for the young star. 4% of $135 is an awful lot of cabbage, people.

              2) The reason the Suns are so fun to watch is that all five of their guys can shoot the bal; it also makes them so much tougher to guard.

              1) But enjoy it while you can, Mike D'Antoni; Flip Saunders was 58-24 last year, and now he is looking for work. NBA coaching is insane.
