Wizards @ Heat (1-0) -- Miami led Game 1 just 49-47 at half, but they shot 52.4% from floor for game, and got spark off bench from Dooling. Wiz shot 36.8% from the floor, committed 17 turnovers, and lost for third time in their four road playoff games. Heat is 5-0 in playoffs, as they won three home games by 18,17,19 pts. All three Wizard playoff losses are by nine or more points.

Sonics @ Spurs (1-0)-- This could be very short series if Allen (ankle) can't go; Radmanovic (ankle) is probably out, playing just nine minutes in Game 1. Allen played a mere 13 minutes, but is said to be possible for this game In Game 1, Spurs led 62-35 at half, shot 56.7% for the game, and looked like a team ready to sweep- they have now won their last five games, by 28,8,11,10,22 pts.

          13) KLWheat phoned in Saturday night to say that the result of Kentucky Derby helps undermine everything he has learned in 40 years of handicapping horses. Shocking result.

          12) 49er coach Mike Nolan wants to wear a suit on sidelines next year, but NFL has told him no, he has to wear officially licensed clothing. You mean, if Tom Landry were still alive, he wouldn't be allowed to wear a suit and his fedora? Balderdash.

          11) The logical conclusion? Coming to a men's store near you, the NFL officially licensed polyester suit, vests optional.

          10) Even with his new contract extension, Tom Brady makes roughly $3M a year less than Michael Vick.

          9) Phil Martelli, Jr. son of the St Joe's coach, is expected to be named as an assistant at Manhattan this week. He was previously at Central Connecticut.

          8) If you were smart enough to plunk down $2 on the winning superfecta ticket in Saturday's Derby, you collected the tidy sum of $1.7M. Before taxes.

          7) In their first six seasons, the new Cleveland Browns won 30 games, or half as many as Jacksonville did in their first six years as an expansion team. This is bad management. Can the new guys do better? Bringing in Trent Dilfer was not a promising start.

          6) 56 undrafted players made NFL rosters in 2004.

          5) For a mere $4,000, you can throw out the first ball at a Diamondbacks' game.

          4) Kansas State's football team has not played a September road game in the last three seasons.

          3) World Series of Poker is expected to get 5,000 entries later this month, with a top prize of $10M possible. Last year's WSOP had 2,400+ entries, the year before, 800+. The growth of poker is amazing.

          2) At 24-7, White Sox are off to best start since the infamous 1919 team, better known as the Black Sox, who were accused of throwing the World Series. Pale Hose have not won a World Series since.

          1) Does the 50-1 shot winning the Derby make the Preakness more attractive, since more people will think their horse has a chance to win?
