Yesterday was a good example of teams' prowess vs. lefties or righties. Angles are ranked #28 out of 30 batting avg. (.205) in the majors vs. lefties. Tigers LH Maroth stifled them yesterday. While Tigers were #9 (.284) who were using Angels LH Washburn as a batting practice pitcher.

Seattle is ranked #29 in batting average vs. lefties with a .204 average, only team worse is Houston as Braves LH Mike Hampton proved yesterday. Mariners only have 2 HRs and 15 RBIs vs. lefthanders this year. Yankee starter LH Johnson is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA vs. Seattle in 1 start. Yankees have thrown back to back shutouts with Mussina and Brown in winning 2 straight games. I believe Johnson continues the strong pitching for them tonight and the Yankee bats get enough runs off RH Meche to cover the 1.5 runs.
NBA:
Pistons -8.5
Pistons should be able to handle a hobbled Pacers squad coming off an emotional game 7 win. Pistons are well rested and well coached with last year's experience as their manuel. A healthy Prince should keep Jackson quiet all night, only thing moving will be his mouth as that never shuts up. The firm of Wallace & Wallace should keep O'Neal off the boards and limit his points. The difference will be Billups and RIP at the guards as the Pacers don't match up well with either one. Defence from the big guys and points from the guards, very simple formula for the Bad Boys of Motown. Pistons should win game 1 by at least 10 points here.
