    Pro Basketball:
    1 Unit on Boston Celtics U 176 -110
NBA FREEBIE: NJ/BOS UNDER The Nets travel to Bean-Town for an Atlantic clash with the Celtics and this is one of those where we are going straight off the stats and trends for this pick. The Nets have struggled since the break offensively but continue for the most part to play a choking defense that has produced an under in 14 of their last 17. Boston is just an up & down team that has also seen the bottom side of the total in 6 straight and 32 of 43 at home in the 2nd half of the season the last 3 years. Boston also has posted an under in 20 of 28 at home during the same span in 20 of 28 with double revenge.

    NIT BASKETBALL
    Boston College @ Fairfield
    Pick: Fairfield +6.5
    Time: 7:30 PM EST

Today the National Sports Advisors look for Fairfield to cover as +6.5 home underdogs, when they take on Boston College in the first round of the NIT Tournament tonight.

Fairfield enters tonight's game with an overall record of 19-11, including 10-6 at home. The Squirrels were one of the MAAC Conference's better outfits this season, compiling an impressive 13-5 regular season conference record. Fairfield made it to the finals of the MAAC Conference Tournament, before succombing to a very talented Manhattan ballclub. Fairfield has been a money maker for their betting supporters this season, as they are 15-10-2 ATS.

Boston College comes into tonight's game still seething and dissapointed that they were not extended an invitation to the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles did have a legitemate gripe, as they went 18-11 with an 11-7 Big East regular season conference record. Many of the players and coaches have gone on numerous Boston area television and radio shows to voice their disenchantment with the NCAA tournament committee, which might not necessarily be the best way to get focused on a possible long NIT run. BC is 13-9-1 ATS this season.

So why FAIRFIELD? Well, it happens all the time in the NIT Tournament. Many more talented ballclubs end up slipping up in the early rounds against inferior competition, because of a lack of focus and intensity. BC clearly has been more concerned with blasting the NCAA tournament selection committee, as oppossed to preparing and giving Fairfield it's proper respect. BC is more talented, but Fairfield will be sky high for this game and should get the cover.

    Georgetown (+4') at TENNESSEE

By Rob House of I Will Win Sports, Featured Handicapper

Tennessee, which feels it was snubbed by the NCAA Tournament Committee, looks to prove something in the NIT and it starts with a first-round matchup against the Hoyas of Georgetown.

G-Town lost to Syracuse to end its Big East Tournament run last week. The Hoyas are a big, physical team that loves to throw the body around, led by leading scorer and Big East first teamer Mike Sweetney. They are 8-3 SU and 4-2 ATS in non-conference games this season. They are also 5-1 SU and ATS the past three seasons when a road dog of 3 1/2 to 6 points.

Tennessee comes off a loss to Auburn in the SEC Tournament which ended up being a game for a bid to the NCAA Tourney as the Tigers advanced, while the Vols were snubbed. The Vols are only 4-7 ATS as a favorite this year.

Who will contain Sweetney, the big power forward for the Hoyas tonight? Look for him to have a double-double, and Georgetown to come out and keep it real close tonight on Rocky Top against the Vols.

    PICK: 3 GEORGETOWN

    DePaul at NORTH CAROLINA (-7)

    By Chris Jordan, Featured Handicapper

Hey guys, I’ve won nine of my last 11 college selections and given my customers 44 stars of college profit since last Wednesday.

That means my $100 bettors are up $4,400 during that stretch and my nickel bettors are up $22,000!! I am on a serious roll guys in college hoops.

And I’m going to keep it going tonight as I’ve got TWO MAJOR MOVE 5-STAR PLAYS FROM THE NIT TUESDAY NIGHT!!!

That, plus TWO 5-STAR NBA LOCKS!! All told, it’s FIVE WINNERS EQUALLING 23 STARS OF TOTAL PROFIT!!

I LOVE TONIGHT’S CARD! And here’s the best news, these winners are SO CHEAP IT’S A CRIME. Just $20! That’s right, get them all for just $20 here at my site at the Big Green Machine! Just $20 to get your week rolling. And I do mean rolling because when the Big Dance gets going….LOOK OUT!!

I already see SIX NO DOUBT ABOUT WINNERS ON THURSDAY AND SEVEN ON FRIDAY!!

But that’s then, this is now! Check out my Tuesday night no-brainers guys, I’m sure you’ll be glad you did.

Now as far as this free play is concerned, I like the Tar Heels to take care of the Blue Demons tonight in Chapel Hill. North Carolina has played its best basketball in many months here in the last week of the season with impressive wins over Maryland and Duke.

And now they’ve got the key to the team, big man Sean May, back on the floor. May, who had a couple of blocks and scored the first two times he touched the ball against Duke on Saturday after missing most of the season with a foot injury, has the best hands of any big man in the country. I mean that!

With May working inside, Rashad McCants and Jawad Williams will get more open looks from the outside. DePaul had a nice comeback year, but finished with slumping runs of 1-4-1 ATS and 2-4 SU. Over the last three years, the Blue Demons are a terrible 15-33 ATS versus winning teams. The Heels won the Preseason NIT to begin the year, and it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see them win this version of the tournament to close the season.

    PICK: 2 NORTH CAROLINA

    New Jersey at BOSTON (-2')

    By Alan Rolli, Managing Editor

To say New Jersey is reeling would be an understatement. Sunday's home loss to Philadelphia was the Nets' 11th in 17 games. And tonight, they find themselves back on the road, where they've struggled all season long, at Boston against a Celtic contingent playing in double revenge.

New Jersey is 13-20 SU and 15-18 ATS on the highway this year. But those numbers don't paint an accurate picture as the Nets are actually 1-7 SU and ATS in their last eight away from the confines of the Continental Airlines' Arena they call home.

Boston is coming off an 81-71 upset win at Detroit as the Celtics avenged their worst loss of the season. But, in the game prior, they lost by 15 at New Jersey, and now find themselves in double revenge this evening.

The Celtics, 22-11 SU at home, are 21-14 ATS when laying points this season, and have won seven of their last 10 games overall.

Boston cuts the Nets down to size.

Totals Tip: Seven of the last eight meetings in Boston have stayed under the posted total.

    PICK: 2 BOSTON

    Philadelphia (-6) at MIAMI

    By Alan Rolli, Managing Editor

On Sunday I told you Philadelphia, then a 4 1/2-point dog, would win outright at New Jersey, and the Sixers delivered with a 92-87 upset.

That victory pulled Philly within one-half game of the Nets for the Atlantic Division lead, and two games behind Detroit for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Sixers' victory will all be for naught if they don't complete a 4-0 sweep of the hapless Heat tonight in Miami.

Philadelphia has owned this series, winning nine of the last 11 meetings, going 8-3 ATS in that stretch. And the road team has scored the ATS win in all three clashes this season.

Miami remains witout its top scorer and defender, injured guard Eddie Jones, so Allen Iverson should abuse whomever Pat Riley assigns to defend against him tonight. And the Sixers the healthiest they've been all season, and with more front court bulk than Miami, should dominate the boards.

    Philly scores the 10-point win.

    PICK: 2 PHILADELPHIA

      Net Prophet Sports
Today's Pick: UNC - ASHEVILLE (CBB)
      UNC-Asheville PICK over Texas Southern

Don't be fooled off of UNC-A on the basis on their 14-16 SU record. If the Bulldogs had been content to schedule an easier non-con schedule they'd be well over .500 for the year--their non-con schedule was brutal and included games at Michigan State, Minnesota, East Tennessee State, Connecticut, , Kansas, Holy Cross and Oklahoma. That got 'em a 3-7 SU start to the season, but also got them a lot of $$$ in the athletic department budget and the experience in playing against superior talent. That won't be the case here as I've got them having better personnel all over the court than Texas Southern--they've got a big edge in terms of backcourt quality, they've one of the better players in the Big South in Andre Smith, and are very well coached by Eddie Biedenbach, who's one of the real good guys in college athletics. Happy to take the better coached, deeper, more experienced team with more big game experience and better individual talent--particularly when all we need to do is win this one SU.
