Wizards (2-2) @ Bulls-- Home side 4-0 in series, with Wiz losing first two games at this site, by 9,10 pts- they allowed 103,113 pts in losses, 99 in both wins, holding Bulls to 39.3%, 33.7% from floor in two wins. Favorite is 4-0 vs spread in series, with all four games going over the total. Washington suspended Kwame Brown for the remainder of playoffs, eliminating a potential distraction.

Nuggets @ Spurs (3-1)-- Denver in same boat as Sixers last night, losing OT Game 4 at home that would have tied series 2-2, so tough order for them to go to Alamo and win, but they did win Game 1 here. Spurs took 111 foul shots in last three games, as Denver has been very physical, but they got frustrated late in OT of Game 4 and gave a cheap shot or two. Nuggets 13-40 on treys for this series.

      13) Talk about a bad week; not only did Cuchell, the Oklahoma baseball coach, quit his job after uttering racial epithets, then he went to doctor Monday, and found out he needs a heart operation. Bad week.

      12) Alex Rodriguez makes more money by the end of the third inning than I do in an entire year. Every night, he makes three times what I make in a year. Whoops.

      11) Since 2000, here are major league home runs per game, by temperature: When temp is in 30's, 1.6; in 40's, 1.8; in 50's, 1.9; in 60's, 2.1; in 70's, 2.2; in 80's 2.3, and when it is really hot, in 90's, 2.7. So you can see, hot weather helps the long ball.

      10) Independent minor league team St Paul Saints are playing Mother's Day game at home, but in deference to mothers, are starting at 5:30. In the morning.

      9) New Orleans Saints' offense did not score in 12 of their 16 first quarters last season. That better change, or there will be massive changes on Bourbon Street.

      8) May 10 is the last day for kids to enter the NBA Draft; they then have until a week before the draft to pull their name out, and still play in college next year.

      7) NBA teams that go up 2-0 in playoff series at home are 171-7 in those series since 1984.

      6) Tampa Bay hits just .255 on road, but they hit over .300 at home, using their speed on carpet.

      5) Dontrelle Willis (5-0) is making $385,000 this year, but will break the bank next winter.

      4) Who made Arkansas' football schedule? Hogs go to USC and Alabama on consecutive weekends this fall, not the best way to have a successful season.

      3) Then there is Auburn, which has a new QB, and is not taking a road trip until October 15.

      2) New York naysayers are quiet about Mets trading Kazmir, who is 0-3, 4.50 in six starts this season. The Zambrano/Kazmir trade has been useless both ways. Last year, all the critics were all over the Mets for not keeping Kazmir, who is likely to wind up a closer.

      1) Southern University did what a lot of other schools probably would like to do: when their hoop coach got an interview at Youngstown State, and commented to Ohio media about his plans for the Penguins' efforts to recruit, Southern fired him, and he was left without a job, when he didn't get the Youngstown post.
