3 Wise Men MLB Monday 5/02/05

We had a winning week cutting our Week 1 losses practically in half. Lets get back to even then start Rockin’ & Rollin’. At first I did not count Florida as a win on Saturday due to the game being rain abridged. After reading the good news that some of us got paid I decided to count it as a win.

If Pittburgh / Houston and or Boston / Detroit become playable games I’ll post a 2nd report when lines are posted

The Plays for Monday: 1 Play + 1 High Liner.

    1 ½* St. Louis -140

A light nibble with a run line parlay using

    Arizona RL (+1 ½ -155 )
    Washington RL ( +1 ½ -215 )

    **********************************

    Sunday Results:

    2* Florida -140 Loss

    1* Kansas City RL ( +1 ½ -140 ) Won

    1* Boston -120 Won

    **********************************

The Record: Moneys are listed first on a flat 100 per game, then on a 100/ Star basis.

    High Line Parlays 1-1

    4*

    3 ½*

    3* 3-0 +300 +900

    2 ½* 1-0 +100 +250

    2* 0-4 -555 -1110

    1 ½* 2-4 -270 -405

    1* 8-10 -290 -290

    ½* 3-3 +15 +15

    Summary of all plays:

    17-21

    Flat 100 / game : -700

    100 / Star : -640

    Run Line Plays: 6-4
(already factored in with the above rundown )

    Good Luck as always,

    Coverboy

This is not a negative, post, so please don't take it as such.

I'm just curious about the strategy with taking a 1.5 run dog and laying money. Have you found a statistical history that shows that these teams tend to lose more one run games than they actually win?

My stats have shown that almost 30% of MLB games are decided by one run.

Neil, I'm way up since I started playing our selections from day 1. Also, I've heeded your advice to cut back when our 'official' start got off slow. As I've stated many times when Coverboy advises to cut back or pass please follow his advice. IMO there's no Wiser (no pun intended) capper than Coverboy.

                  Mule

The 2 run line plays today would be 1* rated plays if the lines were reasonable .

Since the lines are not and there's not much action today I suggested placing them in a parlay... albeit for SMALL.

Historically our RL plays are solid.

Last year we hit a 7 team hi line parlay... what a day that was.
