  • marlins and phillies?.....

its rain delay with marlins leading 2-1 in the bottom of the 5th with one out . does this mean that the game will be drawn if the game doesnt resume or marlins will get a win?

Game must go 5 complete innings for a game. Bets must be the full 8.5 or 9 innings

      Actually

The total would be a no play if you have an over or an under and it does not go the nine innings.

If you play the money line on Florida they must give Philly a chance to fully bat through 5 innings as long as they are the home team and trailing to make it official. If the Phills were leading at home it would already be an official game and a win. However.....the Marlins need two more outs to make it official for a win.

      Hope it helps. gv

Game must go 9 innings (8.5 if home team is ahead) or this pick is NO ACTION

Sorry GV- My education as well. MLs do not have to go but 5 innings or as you stated.

The local here plays it just like the MLB rules which works probably works out for them in the long run like any other games. 5 1/2 innings for an official game if home team leads...or road team wins and game and is official after the full five. He does go with the totals though as game must complete to entirety with the game not being called prior to its normal completion. gv

Gv- I have enjoyed your picks in the past. Bodog plays it apparently the same. no warning issued on the ml. Just like playing a five inning bet.

Hypothetical question then since I don't play over/under often I've never had it happen. If a game has to go the full nine for a total bet, is it a no play if you took the over and the game went over before the rain out, ie in the 6th inning?

Goldvike-I think you mean 4 1/2 innings if home team is leading;I know you know the rule but weren't thinking or made a typo when you wrote it.
My understanding is even if game goes over the total say during 5 innings and then game is called in the 6th, total is a no play.

                          Savage

you are correct on the typo! Thanks for correcting!

The easiest way to remembet it is:

The HOME TEAM MUST BE AHEAD STARTING THE BOTTOM OF THE FIFTH inning and if it is called. HOME TEAM WINS THE BET if the game is cancelled at that time.

The Visting team MUST BE AHEAD AFTER THE HOME TEAM HAS BATTED THROUGH THE ENTIRE BOTTOM OF THE FIFTH INNING to win the bet if the game is cancelled at that point.

ALL TOTALS MUST GO THE ENTIRE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE GAME. (this is where some locals go crazily different after nine innings are completed in a tie game).

To the best of my knowledge it will work this way on a total.

e.g......you take an over 12 runs in a Rockies game. The score is 10 to 10 going into extra innings. Obviously WAYYYY OVER the total. The game gets rained or snowed out in any extra inning (10th....13th....20th...no matter). The total is A NO PLAY as the game never officially ended to conclusion .

HOPE THIS HELPS OUT SOME! Goldv

                            Over/under question from Pinerider

Pinerider, let's say Florida is up 7-4 in the 6th inning and game is called. The over bet is cancelled even though it should be a winner. Works the same way for the under so atleast it's a 2 way street. Bets say that game must go 9 innings or 8 1/2 if home team wins for the over/under bets in baseball.

Also no action on runline in bodog

The NY Mets vs Washington game has been called due to rain with Washington winning 5-3 in the bottom of the 8th. Washington is declared the winner with NO Action on the Total and Run Line. Pitching Change: The starting pitcher for Washington, Zack Day is OUT, in his place Tom Ohka will start tonight's game.

Here is a message Bodog had under the Mets/Nationals game after called in the 8th inning. Guess runline is a no bet also.
