NC ASHEVILLE (+1) OVER Texas Southern
TSU will have a hard time matching up with the inside presence of Asheville. The Bulldogs center Ben McGonagil has a tremendous advantage as the biggest body on either side standing at 6-foot-11. Texas Southern is lead by guard play and their top rebounder is 6-foot-4 guard Allen Lovett. Asheville should be able to match the play of the TSU guards, but I do not see anyway that TSU can match the inside presence of Asheville. Size does matter in this one, I look for Asheville to move on to play Texas.

Don't let UNC-Ashvilles record fool you, they are one of only 17 teams with a losing record to be in the tournament and they have never played in the NCAA tournament, but did play a tournament-worthy schedule this season.

Asheville opened the season at Michigan State, then lost all four games on a road trip to Connecticut, Holy Cross, Oklahoma and Kansas. The Bulldogs also lost at East Tennessee State, giving them six games against tournament teams. And they also played Minnesota this season and they at one time were a top 25 team.

Texas Southern's strength of schedule was 320 while NC Ashville's was 154. All the thumpings that they took earlier in the season should pay off tonight!

It took overtime, but Ashville got it done. Seventeen missed free throws by TSU!
