Bulls (2-0) @ Wizards-- Arenas had way better game in Game 2 after disaster in opener, but Bulls still jumped to 57-50 halftime lead, made 8 of 15 treys and now head to DC up 2-0. Wiz shot 38.4% and 42.5%; they'll need to find some easier shots to get back in series. Strange that both games went over and Wiz lost both; you would think they'd prefer faster pace, but not so far.

Mavericks @ Rockets (2-1)-- Visitor is 3-0 in series, as Dallas had 20-0 run in fourth quarter of Game 3 to get back in series. Mavs shooting 35 FT's a game in series, a lot; they shot 50%, 48.5% from floor in last two games Houston is 22-43 on treys in last two games, so it is not tough to see how last two games both went over total.

Celtics @ Pacers (2-1)-- Walker sits this game out after his scuffle in Game 3; Miller does not want to retire yet, scoring 61 points in last two games. In Game 1, Celtics shot 51.4%, scored 102 points; since then, they scored 79,76 points and shot 38.8%, 39.7% from field. In the last three halves, Boston scored 37,38,38 points. Huge game for Celtics (6-26 on treys last two games).

Spurs @ Nuggets (1-1)-- Denver got what it wanted in split at Alamo, now they're in altitude vs Spur squad that was up 31 at half in Game 2. Miller had 31 points in the opener, but only 11 in Game 2, as Spurs cut turnovers from 17 to 9, and took twice as many free throws as it did in opener (19 to 38)- they also held Denver to 36% from floor.

              No Problems Guys

Lawrence: May's good and bad Pitchers

With Memorial Day picnics planned and barbeques a blazing, we move into the second month of the 2005 major League Baseball season. Let's take a quick glance at who the GOOD and BAD MONTH pitchers are during May.

With special thanks and assistance from baseball handicapping colleague Tom Freese each and every month this season we'll present the pitchers who have performed above or below the norm in their GOOD MONTHS and BAD MONTHS in games from 2002-2004.

Here are the GOOD MONTH and BAD MONTH pitchers for MAY...

              MAY GOOD:
              Kevin Brown-New York Yankees: 12-4
              Roy Halladay-Toronto: 13-5
              Randy Johnson-New York Yankees: 9-3
              Pedro Martinez-New York Mets: 12-3
              Eric Milton-Cincinnati: 9-3
              Jamie Moyer-Seattle: 14-3
              Mike Mussina-New York Yankees: 13-4
              Curt Schilling-Boston: 15-3
              Jason Schmidt-San Francisco: 13-3
              Aaron Sele-Seattle: 11-4
              Jarrod Washburn-Los Angeles Angels: 12-4
              Kip Wells-Pittsburgh: 11-5
              Paul Wilson-Cincinnati: 12-5

              MAY BAD:
              Brian Anderson-Kansas City: 1-12
              Kris Benson-New York Mets: 3-11
              Adam Eaton-San Diego: 1-9
              Casey Fossum-Tampa Bay: 3-7
              Mike Maroth-Detroit: 3-9
              Jake Peavy-San Diego: 3-7
              Jae Seo-New York Mets: 3-7
              Brett Tomko-San Francisco: 5-11

Remember to study the list over carefully before you make a play. If a GOOD MONTH pitcher is in good form and off a loss, you have a play. Conversely, if a BAD MONTH pitcher is in bad form and off a win, you have a play. Stick to the game plan, and by season's end you'll have a GOOD YEAR - that's a promise!
