WOW...What a card for tonight! Personally, I think this is the best card to play so far this year. There seems to be some really good plays where the lines are way off from where they should be. Here is how I see it:
Cubs/Astros over 7.5 runs +1.10 (Maddux/Clemens) We all know that they are playing in a hitters park tonight. You've got two over the hill pitchers on the hill tonight who are past their prime. I will give credit to Clemens though because he can still throw hard and get it past the hitters. However, the Cubs have a line-up to hit the ball long. Even when Cory Patterson isn't strike'n out he is hitting home runs. (I still think Cory needs to be moved down to about 7th in batting order as he does strikeout a lot, he does have some power though. Hell, even when he would lead off and get on base they never sent him....so Dusty, whats going on here?) Anyway, I expect the Cubs to rock the Rocket tonight and hit the ball hard. Maddux on the other hand, needs to get those calls for strikes on the corners...something that he has not been getting so far this year. This leads to him coming over the plate more and that leads to him getting crushed. He gives up the long ball in those situations. Lets face it, he's not gonna through it past anyone these days, and teams know that they can run on Maddux. Shit, Houston will steal on Maddux like a riot going on in NYC. The Cubs also have a scary bullpen, which likes to give up runs. And Hawkins closing a game is who I call "Mr. Interesting." I don't know what happened to him since he came over from Minny...I know he ain't the same as he was in Minny though. So the games looks to fly over the total as Vegas has relied on "names" of starting pitching to make us think this will be low scoring. Hey 10 years ago, this line would be correct.
Other plays tonight...Fla-1.20 looks great. Wolf got crushed his last outing and he seems to be falling behind in the count a lot. Mostly a curve ball pitcher I expect Fla will sit on the fastball, on crush the hanging breaker. The Wolf can get wild at times and forget where the strike zone is. Give Florida the edge in knowing how to win close games and Burnett at -1.20 looks like a steal. Lets hope Vegas keeps smoking that crack!
I also like Arizona+1.45 with Webb on the hill tonight. Play the game over 7 runs +110 as well. This D-Back team is not as bad as "the experts" say it is. The G-Force will produce runs and they have some decent starting pitching. I have done very well so far this season when playing the D-Backs.
The longshots tonight are on Toronto +165 as I'll take my chances with Halladay at that price over a Yankee team that is having trouble, although the Large Unit is the one bright spot they have going for them. How Randy does it I'm not sure...must have sold his soul or something because he is another accident waiting to happen for the pinstripes...but for now I'll give him props.
I'm on Tampa Bay+205 with Nomo over a red hot Baltimore team. I think if it does not rain the game out tonight it will be "Twister and Tornado" night in Baltimore. Getting Nomo at this price is an overlay, dispite the D-Rays losing streak as of late. The D-Rays sting the Birds tonight giving one nut Kruck telling us how they did it on Baseball Tonight.
So there you have it! Six Plays to watch come home tonight. Personally, I'll be watching the Mulder/Hudson match-up on TBS. This should be a great game to relax and enjoy while I can check-up on scores from my plays of the night. It will be like dollars over the airwaves! Good Luck Guys.
