NBA Officiating

As many members know I rarely watch the games I bet. I also rarely watch any NBA games. IMO it is a horrible spectator sport. The primary reason the sport sucks is the refs. They are aweful.

Last night I watched the first OT in the Neat/Net game. The official were horrible. One really wonders what they see on the court or don't see. Shaq posts up. Hammers the defender with two elbows to the face and they call the foul on the Nets.

In another game from the night before (I don't remember the game) a player for Team A goes for the rebound. The opposing player blatanly pushes the rebounder from behind. His teammates gets the rebound, scores a lay up basket and the refs call a foul against the other team.

This post is not about sour grapes. I didn't bet the game.

seams like nba is more about espn clips than inforcing the rules. players travel almost every posession witch makes it easier to score one on one (espn highlites). hanging on the rim is a technical foul but never called. they blatently carry the ball. i am sure the refs see this, but are told not to call these infractions. inforcement of original rules would help passing and shooting more than the recent rule changes. i only watch playoff games, and i love to play and watch good basketball. and one makes me sick and thats where the nba is headed!

All very good points especially about the ESPN clips. ESPN had ruined most sports.

There was a game a few months ago. Lebron James took 4 steps. The refs called traveling. The call was so obvious. I couldn't believe Lebron argued the call.

Frank, you know it's a bad call when the commentators state that the call was incorrect which they did last night...

The NBA really isn't that much different from the WWF or whatever it's called now. If you bet on basketball, don't bother watching the games, it'll drive you nuts. They really need to clean it by calling more offensive fouls and carries. The shit they let Shaq get away with, is rediculous. He just clears people out of the way.
