Northcoast Comp. Line-4* from Billy Coleman on OVER Sacramento/Seattle.
              Jack Price/Corey Black(head)-over Phoenix/Memphis.
I am curious as to 1) what name Jack Price will assume once he realizes that his trying to pass off his own picks under the name of Corey Black doesn't work and.or whether he will go back to using the name of Jack Price;2) what name(s) will appear on his tombstone when he dies-Jack Price, Corey Black, perhaps both or his real name which I can't recall and/or a combination of all three.

                  BIG AL

                  friday
Our 5 selections include the Astros, Twins, Grizzlies, Kings, and
                  76ers.

Memphis -- At 9 pm, our selection is on Memphis as home dogs of 4
points or less are 10-1 ATS since 2002 in Game 3, if they're off a
loss in Game 2. Take Memphis.

Philadelphia -- At 8 pm, our selection is on Philadelphia, as home
teams off back to back playoff losses, are 17-5 ATS if they are NOT
favored by more than 1 point, their last loss was by double digits on
the road, and they are not on a 5-game (or worse) losing streak vs.
                  its opponent. Take Philly.

Sacramento -- At 10:30 pm, our Western Conference Playoffs Game of
the Month is on Sacramento, as .525 (or better) home favorites of
more than 1 point are 24-8 ATS in Game 3 of the 1st Round of the
Playoffs, if they're matched up against a foe with a won/loss
percentage greater than .595 and less than .700. Take Sacramento.

Houston Astros -- At 8:05pm our selection is on Houston over the
Chicago Cubs. Two of the greatest to ever step on a pitcher's mound
square off against each other as Roger Clemens faces Greg Maddux.
This has to be a record for the most Cy Young awards ever in the same
game as these two have 11 between them (7 for Clemens; 4 for Maddux).
The fact that Clemens has an ERA of 0.32 so far this year, but only
one win in four starts is another amazing statistic. It's almost
impossible to pitch that well and have your team respond with a 1 - 3
record in the games you started, but that is exactly what has
happened so far in 2005 for Clemens. If he were a younger player with
no world series titles to his name, he might let stats like that
affect his pitching, but being in his hometown, making a great living
doing what he loves and knowing that retirement is around the corner,
Clemens is just taking it in stride. And who knows, he might win his
8th Cy Young when it's over. His last two outings were 1 - 0 losses,
but they were to two of the NL's best in Tim Hudson (Braves) and Mark
Mulder (Cards). Maddux used to be one of the NL's best, but he is
showing signs of mortality and can no longer put up the kind of
numbers that Clemens can. In fact it seems that nobody can do that
                  lately. Take the Astros.

Minnesota Twins -- At 8:10pm our selection is on the Minnesota Twins
over the LA Angels. Carlos Silva takes the mound indoors for the
Twins in the first game of this series with the Angels. Silva has
been a very welcome addition to the Twins rotation since he joined
them in 2004. Silva recently came of the DL for a minor knee injury
and had a very effective outing against the Tigers one week ago. The
Angels are one of the teams he loves to see in the opposing dugout as
he has only given up three earned runs total in his three career
starts against them, and he's NEVER LOST, going 2-0 with a 1.27 ERA
and a 1.26 WHIP! Angels starter and former Atlanta Brave Paul Byrd
has really struggled since coming over from the National League. He
is another in a long line of pitchers who seem to have problems when
they leave Atlanta and their legendary pitching coach Leo Mazzone.
After putting up an ERA of under four runs per game in 2004, Byrd
signed a $4.5 million contract with LA and after four starts has a 1
                  - 2 record and an ERA of over 5.6 so far this year. Both bullpens
have been outstanding this year with ERAs well under two-and-a-half
runs per nine innings and two of the best closers in the game in
Rodriguez and Nathan. But Silva stands a much better chance however
of getting the ball to his closer than does Byrd. Take the Twins in
this one. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

Marc Lawrence National League Game Of The Week! - Friday 4/29/2005

                                Play On: Atlanta w/Hudson

Note: Matchup of former Athletics’ aces finds Atlanta’s Hudson in great KW form. With the Braves 7-2 at home in this series, look for Hudson to improve to 17-5 in his last 22 April team starts here tonight. Atlanta with Hudson is our National League Game Of The Week.
