Big Al's whole card.
wednesday
Our selections include the Red Sox, Suns and the 'over' in the
Spurs/Nuggets game.
Denver/San Antonio 'over' -- At 8:00 pm, our selection is on the
'over' in the San Antonio/Denver game as it falls into a Totals
system of mine that is 36-10 in the Playoffs since 1990, including a
subset that is 19-2 ATS! Take the 'over'.
Phoenix Suns -- At 10:30 pm, our selection is on the Phoenix Suns, as
Mike D'Antoni's men fall into a home momentum system of mine that is
47-17 ATS since 1994, including 11-2 ATS when our home team is seeded
#1. This system involves playing on certain home favorites off a
point spread win as a home favorite. Memphis has never won a Playoff
game in its history, and is 1-4 ATS in those 5 Playoff losses. Take
Phoenix.
Boston Red Sox -- At 1:05 pm, our selection is on the Boston Red Sox,
who will hand the ball to Timmy Wakefield this afternoon. Wakefield
has been brilliant this year, with a sparkling 1.75 ERA, including
0.69 at Fenway Park. Meanwhile, Daniel Cabrera has pitched miserably
for the Orioles this season. In 4 starts, he's allowed 39 baserunners
in 20 innings pitched (a WHIP of 1.95), and his ERA is 7.65. The
Orioles have won 3 of Cabrera's 4 starts, but that's only because
they've scored 28 runs in those 3 wins! Baltimore will be
hard-pressed to get that kind of offensive production today against
Wakefield, and Cabrera's history against Boston (16.50 ERA, 3.00
WHIP) doesn't provide much hope either. Take the Red Sox in this
ESPN-televised game. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
