Home teams were 6-2 vs spread in Game 1's........

Indiana @ Boston (1-0)-- Celtics crushed Pacers' subs in second quarter Saturday, taking 57-31 halftime lead shooting 51.4% from floor, compared to 34.8% for Indy Pacer subs had better step up here. Celtics were plus-11 in turnovers (11-22) and made 10 of 18 treys. Indy had 30 made FTs and only 23 two-point baskets.

Houston (1-0) @ Dallas-- Rockets on extreme roll, as two hottest teams in league hook up here; they held the Mavericks to 35.3% from floor, offsetting 42 free throw tries by Dallas, compared to 20 for Houston. Dallas has to adjust its defense on McGrady, who is hungry to get past first round of playoffs for first time in his career.

      13) Patriots actually drafted USC's third-string QB on Sunday; AJ Feeley was a backup at Oregon, but he had started before Harrington got to Eugene-- has third-string QB ever been drafted before?

      12) Adrian McPherson will be fine for the Saints; he had his issues at Florida State, but what other draftee alread has two years of pro football (Arenaball) under his belt? Right, nobody..............

      11) Danny White is the new coach of new Arena team in Salt Lake City, which starts play next season.

      10) Here is why Denver was stupid for taking Clarett when they did; Travis Henry is already a proven 1,000 yard rusher in the NFL. Buffalo would have sung two choruses of Rocky Mountain High, had the Broncos given them the third-round choice they used on Clarett for Henry, who is miserable in Buffalo. You're telling me that Clarett is better than Henry? No way.

      9) Grizzlies' Brian Cardinal played for Purdue, but his dad was the trainer at Illinois for 30 years.

      8) Mike Fratello should have it out with his stylist; his hair color makes him look like Carrot Top's uncle.

      7) Torry Holt, Trent Green and Jon Jansen prepped for their post-NFL careers by working on NFL Draft on ESPN. Green was especially impressive; he was really good, talking about different real-life NFL issues

      6) Tracy McGrady has never been past the first round of playoffs (0-4 in previous series)

      5) Spurs missed 17 field goals in row in fourth quarter of their first game loss to the Nuggets.

      4) That win was Denver's first playoff road win since May of '94, when they had won game at Utah.

      3) Clippers' 27-14 home record this year was best for them in last dozen years.

      2) White Sox' 15-4 start is their best 19-game start in the long history of the franchise.

      1) Bruce Chen must have ticked someone off; his first four 2005 starts: two vs Bronx, two vs Red Sox.
