    Good am guys:

    04/25

St. Louis - 1.5 (+100, two units) , Milwaukee (7-11) long reliever Obermueller comes out of the pen to make his first start of the season in place of ailing Ben Sheets. The Brewers went 1-9 in Obermueller road starts last season, eight of the nine losses coming by at least two runs. (at) St. Louis (12-5) starter Suppan is 8-2 life over the Brewers, including a 3-0 victory at Milwaukee on the 15th, where he allowed 5 hits over 8 1/3 innings. The Cardinals are 11-3 within the NL Central. They swept three at Milwaukee earlier this month.

MLB - Baseball / Pat Miller
    Game:Chicago White Sox @ Oakland Athletics on Apr 25 2005 10:05PM
    Prediction:under
Reason:The last eight meetings in this series have played under the total. I don't expect that trend to change on Monday night.

The White Sox will have Jon Garland on the hill. He has been their strongest starter in the early going, posting a 3-0 mark with a 2.57 ERA. The A's are hitting just over .200 against right handed pitching at home, so expect him to turn in another solid outing.

While we don't like to use the word 'due', Barry Zito is simply due for a strong game. He is 0-3 this season with an ERA over six. This game presents a terrific opportunity for Zito to send a message that he is still one of the best starters in the American League.

This should be a pitcher's duel from start to finish. We'll predict a 3-2 final one way or the other. Take the under.-

I'm willing to lay a little wood with the slumping Houston Astros tonight in the Steel City.

Houston has lost its last 3, but should be able to ride the Oswalt-Express to victory this evening. Roy Oswalt has been lights out this spring, sporting 3 straight wins, allowing only 5 runs in his last 23 innings of work.

The Pirates' Oliver Perez has gotten off to a bad start, and with the 'Stros in need of a win, Perez should struggle once again. Perez is winless in 4 starts, and sports an ERA of 9 for the year.

Pittsburgh is just 1-6 at home this year, and while Houston only sports one road win thus far, Oswalt is the man who pitched them to it.

I say lay it, and watch the Astros get it done.

On a 1* to 5* basis, make it a 2* on the Astros
