1* Cavs -5 1/2
I know....I know. The Cavs are in the middle of a choke job of historic proportions. The new owner panicked and fired a good coach. LeBron is getting no help from heartless teammates, etc. But Cleveland has to win tonight to keep playoff hopes alive and Boston is now locked into its slot. Even Illgauskas might come off IL to play. Everybody and his brother will be on Cleveland for all of these reasons and the play is not without risk, but I think in this case the likelihood is that a desperate team will rise to the occasion versus a team that has accomplished its goals and is pointing to the playoffs.
1* Bulls -8
This is actually an important game for Chicago. They are trying to nail down home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Knicks couldn't even beat Atlanta at home even with an extra five minutes in overtime.
1* Nuggets -9 1/2
Tricky game. Denver lost a big one last night and is stuck with the #7 seed in the west and is tired with little to play for. But the Nuggets are a very deep team and are back at home where they've been great. Crowd will be pumped up to celebrate the regular season finale. In the meantime, what is Portland's motivation?
