Thanks to everyone making a say on this issue. It really seems to be the widest margin between a gambler and one who treats it as business. As I have said by experience a gambler will go all in on many occasions with the thought no way is this going to lose- only it can. Treating it as a business 3-2 you should be up! Thanks to Frank on the play it and leave it it alone, advise. Also - leaving the table when you are full. BOL to all as my bets will be by a more disciplined effort in the future as this site provides winners by percentage not by game.

Thanks everyone for your advice...I wrote down a plan of attack, and I'm gonna try my hardest to stick to it even though there are countless awesome plays on here. Thanks again.

Threads like this is one of the many reasons a gambling forum like BC is so valuable. You can learn a lot from other people. Honestly, I have been struggling with the same problem since bases started.

One thing I can add to this discussion, I have known it and Frank talks about it alot, but DO NOT let emotions interfere with your wagers. As a concrete example, say you lost a bet in the bottom of the ninth on an early game...and you are sitting there at the wagering screen for the late games...chances are you can honestly feel how angry and upset you are and want to double up...instead...take some time...cool down...think about the next day and how there are many more gambling opportunities..and make a SMART decision about the wager you make, that even if you lose again..you will not hate yourself in the morning.

BT, I agree 1000%. I see it on this forum too often. A bettors suffers a tough loss. They let their emotions get the better of them They chase that loss. Chasing leads to additional losses.

Aside from money management. The best advice I can give any player. Learn to accept loses. A very successful sport bettor will lose 44% of his bets. It's what you do with the other 56% separates the winners from the losers.

I had a tough loss last night with the Sonics. The game is over. I have no control over the result. MOVE ON!

                Frank,
I'm probably wrong about this, especially since I have a different opinion on this. I personally do not like to place all my bets at the same time.
When all bets are in and your having one of those bad days when the early games have gone into the pot, you are already committed to the late game torture.
By placing them intermitently you have more control and can have a stop loss figure, similar to blackjack.(Stay to a certain amount won-but never leave during a streak, leave the table after a certain amount is lost or a certain number of hands have been lost in a row). This limits the amount lost.
                Remember the three R's:
Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

I like betting all my games together for a few reasons. Mostly, I don't want to be influenced by the early games when betting the later games. If I lose an early game or games I don't want to bet the last game scared or pass on the game entirely.

Not only have them place the bets for you but MAKE the bets for you(let them decide what teams to bet even if they know nothing about sports);my 10 year old daughter has done well for me in time of need).
