I hate baseball favorites. They'll drive you to the poor house. I like to use this example to prove my point.

A guy plays 40 games a year. His bet is always to lay $1000. He plays only favorites, the average one is -160 (a typical bad baseball bettor. He goes 24-16. He is therefore down $1600! 24 winners = $24,000. 16 losers = $25,600.

For hitting 60 percent of his games, he lost money! The numbers are even more brutal for people who play favorties at -200 or higher.

You have to mix it up, playing only dogs can get you in trouble, for example 2nite 3 dogs 5 favs, really 2 to 6, Toronto only a dog right before game time

I don't care what anyone says. You can NOT win consistantly in bases playing favorites over -150. Especially, the way the game is now played. Lines are set based on starting pitchers. Most pitchers only pitch 6 or 7 innings.

              Thanks Tony

That's a great article! Also worth consideration: We all know that the "typical" gambler prefers laying their cash on the favorites. Therefore, line moves will usually work to your favor by gametime if you're playing dogs. Even the openning lines are slightly padded because Vegas assumes more action on the favorite.
              BEAT THE BOOKS!!!

Very true! And that is why most gamblers lose.
