Boy oh boy did we clean up last year. Most of our cash was won some Win totals bets on the Indians, in which we gave you almost 12 dimes of wagers on the Tribe to WIN OVER 73.5 last year. We said they'd win 80, and nailed it, as they went 80-82.
Now on to this season, and there are a few good ones out there. To wit;
NY Yankees Under 100.5 Wins (-108) -- 108/100 -- A small wager on this one, but come on. While the lineup and even rotation look as good as ever in some respects, there are big questions. Jaret Wright and Carl Pavano are coming off of career years. Will they repeat it? Can the Unit stay healthy? And who exactly are the Yanks going to trade for midseason help this year now that their minor league players are the bottom of the barrel? Plus this division should be improved enough to beat them up a little. I look for about 95 wins. Good enough for a bet.
Chicago WhiteSox Under 82 wins (+100) -- 100/100 -- What a joke. This team got rid of almost all of their power, and now they think they'll run for the title with this squad? Not enough pitching here to consider it.
TB DevilRays OVER 69 Wins (-103) -- 412/400 -- This is easy stinkin' cash right here. While they didn't improve their pitching, they've settled on what their strengths and weaknesses are and the players have responded to Sweet Lou. With Crawford running and Huff hitting and Baez closing, this team has enough to win 73, even in that division.
Cleveland Indians OVER 83 Wins (-112) -- 1120/1000 -- This team got better, as I predicted last year. Now this year they lose Vizquel and Lawton, but have you noticed something? They are healthy this time!!!! Last year they lost 3 pitchers and 3 fielders to injury before April. Hafner and Martinez will be hitting machines again. Crisp and Blake are good enought to drive in some runs. Westbrook and Lee will hold the fort down, and CC is now 24, and he will be ready in a week or so. This team will win about 87 games. Not enough to give out a crazy wager like last year's 12 dimes, but they will cash in. Do it!
More in just a bit. Good luck boyz!
