Alright fellas, give me your honest opinion on this. Don't call me a racist, cause I'm not. People are people and should be given the respect they themselves deserve. Don't give me a racist answer cause that's not what I'm lookin' for. I simply want an honest answer to what I see as a valid question.

Why are Black basketball players such poor free throw shooters compared to White players or Chinese or Polish or Russian or Italian or whatever?
Somebody please explain this phenomina to me! Be honest, have you ever wagered on a team.... it's late in the game and the team you bet on is behind and needs to foul and hope for misses at the line. Have you ever watched such a game and said to yourself "no, don't foul the white guy"? Have you been on the other end of it w/ your wager on the team that is winning, knowing the other team is going to foul, and said to yourself, "no, don't foul the black guy he'll miss"?
If you took 200 college basketball players without knowing their name or what school they played for, 100 white and 100 black.... had them shoot 10 free throws apiece, who would you wager on w/ your hard earned money to shoot a higher percentage?

Am I the only person who notices this? Why is this? I don't understand. Is there a gene for free throws that has yet to be detected by human doctors and is linked to race? I find that hard to believe. Why? For crying out loud WHY?????????

I THINK THIS IS A LEGITIMATE QUESTION YOU HAVE POSED ITS JUST THAT FREE THROW SHOOTING HAS NOTHING TO WITH COLOR IT HAS MORE TO DO WITH CONDITIONING, WHAT YOU PRACTICE MORE. FOR EXAMPLE KEVIN PITTSNOGLE IS A GREAT 3 POINT SHOOTER BUT A BELOW AVERAGE FREE THROW SHOOTER. REGGIE MILLER GREAT JUMP SHOOTER AND FREE THROW SHOOTER. ILL BET THESE GUYS HAVE PRACTICED AND PRACTICED THEIR FAVORITES SHOTS.ITS ALL IN WHAT YOU PREFER TO WORK ON.

it's because free throw shooting is a basic skill, and all players seem to be missing basic skills, if it won't get these clowns on sportscenter they're not interested. and it goes for all basketball players, regardless.

if you're paid to play basketball, and make no mistake, college players are paid they should be at least 70 percent from the free shot line.

I don't know the percentage of black player to white players in the NBA. Of the Top-12 FT% leaders 5 are white.

To be fair, 10 of the top 17 free throw shooters this season are black, but what percentage of players in the league are black? On the all time list, 9 of the top 17 are white, and you can come up with examples on all sides, ex. Rick Barry, Pistol Pete vs. Hakeem, Chamberlain, Shaq....

IMO amhlilhaus makes a good point. Overall, I believe blacks are more athletic than whites. Thus, whites have to work harder at the fundamentals.

In no way am I stating blacks don't work at their sport. I do think that some sports simply come easier to black athletes.

Wow, Kentucky player gets hammered to the floor, bleeding from the chin and probably has a concussion. Comes out of the game. Kentucky can choose anyone else on the floor to shoot his free throws. They choose to put the little white guard at the line. Looks like my question merits some consideration. He promptly bricks it. Maybe not!. Thanks to all those who responded w/ an honest opinion.

It was an honest question. People should be judged on their own actions and character regardless of color. Any veteran of war can tell ya that. Your true colors come out when your ass is on the line!!!!!!!!!! Peace out!
