I see where The General has refused to accept his $250,000 salary this year because the team didn't play to his expectations. He will still receive $650,000 from other income this year. I guess he won't starve on that income, but how unique to see someone turn down a salary because his team didn't perform.
In this day and age, I think more coaches and players should have more incentive laden contracts to perform to get paid the big bucks. That's why the top two sports are bowling and golf. If you don't do well, you don't get paid.

yes, but still 250k is not a small bit of money! I don't think you would see many college coaches turn down that much because their team didn't perform well....pretty cool in my book

The only thing wrong with knight is the Soonerbeat him and probably shouldnt but then again thats the way it goes You never seen Sampson cry like a baby when OSU Cowboys beat them on a shot that didnt count. Nothing wrong with Knight ca\oaching except hes a big ball baby and need to act like a adult.

true story

There is a friend of a friend who walked on at IU in the 80's who told this story. Another walk on at the time had long hair and a beard. Knight told him to cut his hair and beard before coming to practice. The kid told him that "Jesus had long hair and a beard" so Knight walked him down to the pool and told him that if he could walk across the water, he could keep his hair and beard.
He is definitely a love em or hate kind of guy, but how many other people have done what he did?
