Massachusetts is just an awful basketball team. How do you lose on your home floor in a game the opponent is missing their best player and hits 28% from the field? Last Saturday, St. Joes played without Delonte West and still beat the Minutemen 52-49, despite missing 72% of their shots. Massachusetts also lost recently to Temple by 42 points. If there was ever a time for George Washington to snap a five-game losing streak in this series it has to be tonight. The Minutemen are exactly 5-15 ATS at home since ’97 following a game in which they scored 55 points or less. George Washington has covered four straight entering Monday and came within two points of beating Xavier on the road. The Minutemen have connected on 35.4, 37.0, and 36.4 percent of their field goals in their last three games and collectively were out-rebounded by 27 boards in those contests. Although George Washington was only 2-9 SU in lined road games this year, they were 7-3-1 ATS and were! only outscored by four points a game. “The Animal” believes the Colonials get the win tonight. GW has hit on 48.1% or better of their shots from the floor in four of their last five games. They also have many more reliable weapons offensively than the Minutemen.

NBA FREEBIE: ATLANTA This game should bring out about 5000 people to lovely Philips Arena as the Hawks actually try and sweep the season series for the 1st time since ’97-‘98. They have managed to win 5 of their last 7 at home and come off an embarrassment at the hands of Toronto Saturday in front of a rare packed house due to the presence of VC. Atlanta pissed that one away by scoring 16 points in the 4th quarter; maybe they were intimidated by the big crowd. No chance of that happening tonight as the Elton Brand-less Clips comes to the ATL and Philips one of 3 arenas LA has yet to pick up a win. LA won in Chicago for the first time in 9 games Saturday and their 1st for new head man DJ. They are 1-6 SU without Brand. The Hawks have won 5 straight in the series covering 4.
