Are you the owner of PDS Sports or are you just using the software to generate plays?

I am using the software and I'm not promoting their products in any way. I didn't even mention the product by name other than SJ. I have found the NBA program to be pretty solid this year and in the past.

If you have any comments or personal experiences with the software I would love to hear them. (good or bad)

Take my posts for what they are worth and see how the results turn out.

Any idea how their baseball program performs?

Frank Do a search for the site of the company that I mentioned in my above post. He has the software's records posted. The problem I have with his software is that there are a few formulas and you really don't know which formula is going to be hot until you get into the season a bit and by then, the law of averages usually turns it around.

Mule, thanks for the reply. I know the site. I've downloaded the demo versions of their software. Does the program allow the creation of new formulas?

If so, can the program test those new formulas through past years?

              Frank & Rented Mule

              Here are some details...

              1. You can install the software on as many PCs as you like, you only need 1 registration number. So I have it installed on 3 PCS, depeding on where I'm at I can run the software. So, in theory I could give you the reg. # and you would be set for the season. For obvious reasons, I can post it right here. If I were able to email you I might be able to help you out. And in turn you might be able to help me someday.

              2. You can not create your own formulas, nor can you see all the calculations it goes thru to determine the preferred picks. You can however, adjust things in the formulas. For example, how many games of data do you want it to look at? The default for the NBA has been 3 games. You can tell it to look at 5 games, 7 games, all games, whatever you want. There are a couple other things you can adjust to make the selections "tighter" or "looser". But I haven't played with them.

              3. The results they post on their web site seem to be accurate. If they weren't you could always question them because you have all the old data (several years) and you can just run the program on that season.

              4. I have bought the Baseball season for the first time and started looking at last years picks day by day. This will be the first season for the "Sports Judge" for Baseball. Before they had something like 6 other algorithms and it wasn't ever clear which one was going to be the best from year to year. The "SJ" is like the overall pick and sometimes there are a couple days in a row without any pick.

              5. The NBA has been solid this year without any tweaking. Always using 3 games of data.

              6. The CB suxed. This was the first year I tried it and it messed me for the whole season. They had great numbers for December but I didn't want to play it until Jan when Conf play started. When I talked to them, they said it is really good if you just play the big conf. Well, this year was not the case. It just kept picking all these damn favorites and they were not covering. Week after week I was seeing Kansas, UNC, Texas, ILL, etc giving double digits and not covering. So I gave up. Maybe it hit a bump in the road this year. Don't know, but on Saturdays it was spitting out at least 12 picks, so you really had to decide what to do.

If I had your email, perhaps I could give you more info, but from what I understand, emails are not to be given out here on the board.

              Hope this helps.
I will probably be buying the Football versions this fall if the baseball lives up to it's expectations.

One other thing - it doesn't know if someone is injured. It's based on pure stats. So when Duncan goes down or Ray Allen has a bad ankle, you have to know that in advance.
