Western Michigan got beat in MAC tournament Friday Marquette lost in OT Wednesday afternoon, so they've had some more time to ****** their disappointment, as Broncos were NCAA team last year, while Eagles are NIT for second year in row since Dwyane Wade led them to Final Four two years ago. First round games in NIT are total crapshoots; best player on court is Reed, senior guard for Western Michigan.

Lakers @ Wizards-- LA rallied late to win 117-116 in Charlotte Saturday, their fourth win in last five games with seven of last nine going over total. Wizards beat LA in OT at Staples Dec 17, 120-116, night after the Lakers had beaten a then-formidable Sacramento five. Washington lost eight of their last eleven games.


Elsewhere, Celtics won seven of last eight games, but in last six games, are 1-5 vs spread; they beat Charlotte by 20 at home ten days ago. Bobcats blew their last game, losing 117-116 to Lakers; their fifth loss in row and 15th in last seventeen games.

Detroit won for second time in last six games last nite, as they edged Utah, 64-62; five of their last six games went under total. Pistons split pair of games vs awful Hawks, winning last meeting, 99-84 Feb 2. Hawks lost 14 of last 15 games, covered 11 of their last 16.

Heat won last eight games, covering last seven; they beat Bucks twice in November, by 2,7 pts, with an average total of 220.5. Milwaukee lost five of last seven games, failing to cover last three, with all three going over total.

Portland drilled Grizzlies at home Saturday, 80-66; they forced 20 turnovers, held Griz to 36.5% from floor, and were +14 on boards, their first win in last seven games and first cover in last 11. Memphis split first games of its road trip, with last three staying under the total.

Hornets are 3-2 in last five games (4-1-1 vs spread last six); they're 0-3 vs Spurs this year, losing by 23,10,16 points. San Antonio lost last two games, covered one of last eight, with last three staying under total, as have five of last six New Orleans games.

Streaky Rockets won, covered last four games, are 3-0 on current road trip and ripped Kings in Arco yesterday; they won first game vs Warriors 100-83 Dec 17- over is 4-2-1 theit last seven games. Golden State is 6-5 in last 11 games, with three of last four staying under the total.
