19 days ago Delaware lost at home to Hofstra 91-82 as a 10 ½-point favorite. NC Wilmington is by far the class of the Colonial Conference and they proved it again yesterday spanking Hofstra 76-56. Delaware also recently lost to Drexel by 14 points and the Dragons were another 20-point victim recently to NC Wilmington. The Seahawks have now won seven straight with the margin of victory being 20, 11, 17, 24, 24, and 20 in their last six. It’s official, they are peaking at the right moment. Delaware is 0-6 ATS this year when trying to revenge a double-digit loss. They lost by 18 to Wilmington in early February. Delaware is also 1-7 ATS this year following a spread victory. NC Wilmington is 26-10 ATS the past three seasons following a game in which they committed 11 or less turnovers. They are 23-8 ATS after four straight games committing 14 or less turnovers. We like our chances here considering the Seahawks have only turned the ball over 38 times in their last five games. That’s less than eight miscues a contest which is downright amazing. I don’t know how a team that loses to Hofstra and allows 91 points in the process and then only beats Towson State by five points can possibly compete with the class of the conference today. Wilmington by 15 minimum.

Southern Illinois looks extremely cheap to us as the Salukis have won six straight and 13/14. By comparison, SW Missouri State is only 4-4 SU in their last eight including a narrow 1-point escape against Northern Iowa at home eight days ago. Remember it was Northern Iowa that lost outright to doormat Indiana State on Friday night in this tournament (how would I forget). Southern Illinois hasn’t been reliable in terms of covering. But in their last nine failures, the Salukis were laying between 4 ½ and 16 points. This is more reasonable and I maintain they are the better team winning 4/5 in this series recently.
