Animal NBA 4* New Orleans Pick (No Rams @ 6:30PM)

The Nets look like they are just going through the motions to me. The anticipated turnaround with Vince Carter hasn’t materialized and Carter himself is bothered by a knee injury. This can’t be a good sign: The San Antonio starting five was held to 45 points last night and the Nets still lost by 16 points. Carter and Jason Kidd combined for 9-of-33 from the field and committed 11 turnovers. New Jersey is just 3-5 SU in their last eight and two of those wins were against Charlotte and Cleveland at home (two teams that never win on the highway). They beat the 76ers in Philly for what that’s worth as the 76ers are obviously experiencing turmoil themselves. This is the 8th home game out of nine for New Orleans while the Nets are on the road for the 2nd straight night. The Nets recently scored 71 against Minnesota, 82 against Toronto at home, 81 at Milwaukee, 81 at home to Orlando, and 74 last night. This is the type of team the Hornets can beat (limited weapons and bad shooting squads). Going 8-3 ATS in their last 11, it’s fairly obvious New Orleans has not quit. At 26-35 (10-21 on the road) and playing without their best all-around player in Richard Jefferson, I think the Nets are toast.
