  • Referee Crews?

I am requesting some help from the board here. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Does anybody know where to acquire info. on referee crews. Specifically, what crew will officiate a particular game and what their history is? By history I mean, do they let the players play? Or, do they call a tight, ticky tacky foul game(like St. Mary's/Santa Clara last night)?

Here is why this info. is so crucial for me.
Friday at 2:30pm ACC Tournament Va Tech vs Ga Tech
Haven't seen a line yet. My local goes by Scoresandodds and they haven't posted one yet. I am a Va Tech alum(class of 1989), live 24 miles from campus and follow their sports programs very closely. Therefore, what I tell you can be considered local knowledge.

Va Tech's starting five lacks a dominant big man. That and foul shooting is their only problem as far as the starters go. Their starting five is very athletic with long arms and they play defense w/ a passion. Lead the ACC in steals. They overplay passing lanes and often reach in for picks resulting in transition buckets. We should get some line value w/ Ga. Tech here for several reasons. The Hokies beat them in Atlanta, although it must be pointed out that Jarret Jack didn't play due to injury. Ga Tech will not take them lightly this time for that reason and also it is the ACC tournament. The Hokies first ACC tournament, I expect them to be in awe of the atmosphere and nervous. Here's where the officiating crew comes into play big time. The Hokies have absolutely NO bench. They have one player on their bench who is worthy of an ACC scholarship in basketball. He is a freshmen backup point guard who was player of the year in the Commonwealth of VA last year and averages about 8 minutes of playing time a game. That's right, VA is a commonwealth, not a state, but that's another f'ed up story. The first player off the bench is the tight end off the football team who plays like a tight end. Get my point. If the officiating crew for this game calls a tight game, the Hokies have a snowballs chance in hell and will get crushed. Look at their big losses for the year and the amount of fouls and free throws the other team took. Case in point. Tech goes to Duke, if a player got close enough to smell a Duke players deodorant, a foul was called. Coach Seth Greenburg had finally had enough in the second half, getting his second T and an early shower. He left the court pointing and cursing like a sailor at the offiating crew. If it's the same crew, the Hokies will get no love on Friday(it's only human nature). I think Duke shot thirtysome freethrows in the first half. Duke crushed them by 38 or something. Duke comes to Blacksburg and the refs let them play. The Hokies beat them. Folks, Cassell Coliseum is not the PIT or a 38 pt. home court advantage. In my 15 years of being a degenerate gambler, the most I have ever wagered on a single game is 2.5K. If I knew the crew for this game had a history of calling a tight game or if it was the crew that called the game at Duke, I am gonna lay 10 dimes on the Yellow Jackets. If it's a crew that "lets em play", I'll lay a dime on my beloved Hokies plus whatever points it is. Of course, I'm making a reasonable assumption that they will be a dog in this one.

Again, any info. on officiating crews would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance. :bestwishe
