Is it just me, or dont the people getting the awards know before hand who wins.

Sideways has been collecting some serious recognition. I wasn't very impressed but the critics love it.
Can't believe Jamie Foxx is such a huge favorite to win best actor, and even more shocked he got nominated for Collateral.
I know the Academy hates on Marty, Gangs of New York was supposed to be his Pic of the Year and he got snubbed, maybe this year is his.
How do you like Marty's chances?

most sites are like the one you just printed the lines from, but some (very few) actually have odds on all the categories and that is the better way to win.......the 'tech' categories have great odds, but only a very few sites have them

for whatever it is worth, if your site only has odds on the main 6, here is the breakdown::

Best Picture--->million dollar baby will probably win, although its political issue (i am not going to ruin it for anyone who has not seen it) is the only thing holding it back.......aviator has a good shot too but should not be -220, more like +160 with million dollar baby being -170ish........sideways has an outside shot, the other 2 have no chance

Best Actor--->the odds should be 1/30,000,000...........there is no possible way jamie foxx could not win....i have seen some sites where the odds are as low as 1/15......this bet cant lose any under circumstance.......it is the equivalent of taking the patriots -1 vs. a high school team.....even at 1/30, it is worth betting everything you have in the account on it because it is free money

Best Actress---->odds are about right........it would be a moumental upset if hilary swank does not win, although the academy does feel they owe annette bening , but this should not matter, swank was unreal..........imelda stauton has a distant outside shot but only worth betting at 15/1 or more

Best Director---->totally 50/50 between scorcese and eastwood, maybe a slight edge to scorcese because he has never won before...the other 3 have zero chance

Best Supporting Actress--->always the weirdest category and the one presented first.....historically, this is the upset category and while i would be suprised if blanchett does not win, i see madsen or portman winning because it is the nature of this award

Best Supporting Actor---->morgan freeman will win and worth a bet if the odds are better than 1/5.....church definitely has a shot because everyone liked sideways but morgan freeman has never won and he is a fan favorite......owen has a distant shot, the other 2 have none

If anyone wants to bet this stuff, be careful reading your own paper's predictions.......even if you think your local entertainment writer knows what he/she is doing, usually they are wrong in picking these.....p.s. if you see anyone predicting jamie foxx, hilary swank or the incredibles (in animated feature) to lose, disregard everything else the person has to say b/c that person is an idiot

they definitely do not know ahead of time......these awards are presented live...........there are some awards during the night where they have informed the person/people before the ceremony begins, but NOT ANY of the main categories of which there are 20

i am not as confident on the razzies but it is a safe bet than any award catwoman is up for , it should get.........i am not sure who votes for the razzies, but in the movie community, it is pretty well understood that catwoman was the worst movie of the year.....alexander was considered bad too but moreso because before it came out, people thought it may actually be good

either way, i cannot honestly say i know who is going to win those awards, but catwoman seems logical

if he loses I expect monetary compensation!!
I think I'm gonna try and parlay some of these to get better odds on the Foxx man.
Do you agree that the timing of Ray's death improves his odds, say if this movie was made in five/ten years it wouldn't "mean" as much.

i will never post again if foxx loses........there are always certain guarantees.......not only has he won every single award at all the shows leading up to this, he played the role blind, he is nominated in 2 categories, he is very popular in the academy, they have to give 'ray' something as it is likely to win only this award, and this is the year of ray charles, just like he swept the grammys.......also, he has said the right things in his 100 previous victory speeches......the only way he could have lost is if he had made some insensitive or political speeches in his other speeches but he didnt

the golden globes were funny, when he won the award, the presenter said "of course, jamie foxx".........i have watched these things forever and never seen that..........

i did not see catwoman.......i would, just to see halle berry in that outfit for a couple hours.........i think the razzie awards are funny.........personally, i have a hard time deciding what the worst movie i have ever seen was but it is close between beverly hills cop 3 and speed 2
