On the other hand with all of the shit lately we have seen with a few priests molesting little boys, you might find a priest or two who might be interested in the "lock" of the day.

i have broken a few commandments in my time i guess
i dont think gambling is as bad as the drug business, and we dont kill anybody, we dont beat up people, etc...
but i guess its still bad to gamblebut hard to stop once you start:D :D
My first ever bet was on an NFL Monday Night Football game and i was like 13 and i bet against my friend
the winner had to buy the loser a pack of hockey cards at the local store
i lost the bet in the final 2 minutes:angryfire

I agree.
I got my start with the football parlay cards while in college-you know where for $1 or more you try to pick anywhere from 3-12 winners.
To make a long story short(this was in 60's prior to computers and the only source of info. were the newspapers) I used to play 4-5 cards a week at $ 1 trying to pick various amounts of games and I think I must have lost about $60 before I finally won the card for $10.
It hasn't got any better since(just kidding-boards like this with solid cappers along with great stats. and trends on internet keep me in the game so to speak so that at least i can have fun).Last edited by savage1; 08-15-2003, 01:06 PM.

It says exactly U.S.A. Parlay Card , done in red , black , and blue ink on a white background , I have been collecting since my late husband passed away now for many , many years and I too used them back in those days , but I really doubt very much so that anyone has used these kind of cards for over 35 years or so now cause they are so rare and do cost a few bucks [ when you can find one ]

Memphis-parlay cars were available in Mass.(obviously illegally 3 or 4 years ago) and I even played one(handled by your namesake, the Mafiosa).
I still don't think even in 1950's they were legal(don't know for sure as I was a kid).
As stated I became aware of them in early 1960's and played them for a long time.

No doubt that parlay cards exist today , that was not my intention at all , as I stated this card was printed in 1955 [ and is unused ] in pristine condition [ mint ]
And I eluded to the fact that they are " very difficult " to find that say exactly " U.S.A. Parlay Card " and look exactly like this one and carry its history ;
Green Bay @ Chicago Cards [ at Wrigley Field ]
trust-me the Mafiosa aint sold one of these in 50 years , but I hope we are on the same page now because it is a collectable and I have been offered a tidy sum for it . I purchased it in baseball card shop in 1974 for 12.00 , and its value now is around 60.00 to 75.00 [ depending ] .
The main reason I brought it up is that I am very proud to have it my collection and get raves from people [ our age ] when they see it , and your comment to Bnut about them made me want to interject and reflect my memories about them because not to many people use them anymore in this computer age , they are truly dinosaurs of our time !

Mafia-I here ya and agree with everything you say except your statement thst mafia doesn't back these guys and gambling for that matter.
If mafia in each city that has one is not backing those who promote and sell these cars, then who is?
