a few interesting things ive spotted for the super bowl. firstly the winner is 30-5 ats. which tells me pick the winner dont go crazy on the spread since vegas especially in the 80s didnt do that well as this is a game where the public until recently has done real well. for the patriots who i think will win,they have a back who rushed for 1500 yards. only 8 times has a team had a rusher with this amont or more and they are 7-1 su. also say what you want about that system that phil steele uses but it contains alot of quality stats that would help you distinguish one team from another.and ne soundly outscored the eagles in most of the catagories of the system which is something like 90%. for the eagles i see that nfc championship #1 seeds have only lost the super bowl once when playing the game that was the 2001 giants who were dogs in the game. secondly teams who won the nfc championship game by 17 or more are 9-1 su all time. also no 2 seed has ever won the super bowl. all these stats for philly are great but usually those nfc teams were favs,and not playing a chameleon like ne who wins games differently each week. i think ne will win,but not a high scoring game like last year. maybe 27-16. 5 units ne. and 3 unit tease ne-1 and under 53. vegas does know the public likes to watch scoring and that most people will take the over,so the total of 47 and change is adjusted,it should really be 43. this could be a grind it out game. if there are no big special teams plays it should stay under. bol gc-

i have been looking at this game and listening to most of the "public" at the vegas sportsbooks. last night i heard and saw ne, ne, ne, ne bets being placed one after another. seems like no one is giving philly a chance. i completely agree with your write up that the spread will not matter...pick the winner. this game reminds me of the big one 20 years ago where a solid wash team was upended by a suprise raider squad. i think i am taking philly but plan to scout out the book more tomorrow. love the under as well...thought for sure the number would be 44...47 seems like a gift.
