    Thursday's games
    Game of the Day:
    Pistons @ Pacers-- Pistons ended four-game loss streak with big win over Denver last night; they've lost last three on road and face Indiana team that has Jackson back after long suspension. Visiting team won first two series games, as obviously the fracas in first game accelerated the rivalry. Indiana lost for seventh time in last 11 games last night; seven of their last eight stayed under the total.

    Elsewhere, Bobcats are 1-15 in last sixteen games, with nine straight losses, six of which went over total. Chicago is red-hot, winning 18 of last 21 games; they're 12-2 vs spread in last 14, 13-2 vs spread in last 15 in Chicago.

    Kings won seven of last eight games, with three of last four going over, but lone loss was 103-73 Sunday night to Spurs, when Kings shot just 37.7% from floor. Spurs are 18-5 in last 23 games; they beat Kings here by 16 on Opening Night, then split two games at Arco.

      Dayton won seven of last nine vs Rhode Island, with wins in last two visits to this site by 9,12 points. Rams are 1-3 in last four games; dog is 4-0-1 vs spread in their A-12 games. Flyers are 3-2 in A-12, with both losses by a single point.

      Marshall in 0-7 in MAC, but none of seven losses was by more than ten points; they're 2-1 as road dog, but lost two of last three visits to Buffalo, where Bulls are 3-1 in league, but just 1-3 as a home favorite. Herd is 10-2 in last dozen series games.

      Butler won its last four visits to Cleveland State, but the Bulldogs are just 2-4 in Horizon, and four of their six games have been at home. Bulldogs are 1-4 as a fave; they scored just 54.3 ppg in last three games. Vikings are 0-5 in league vs teams other than Youngstown.

      Michigan State won nine of last ten games vs Michigan with Wolverines losing last five visits to East Lansing by 14,5,21,27,17 points. Eight of State's last nine series wins were by 14+ points. State is 3-1 as favorite in Big 11. Michigan's two league losses are by 9,11 points.

      Cincinnati won its last seven games vs South Florida, winning last three visits to this site by 10,11,11 points. Dog is 4-0 vs spread in USF's league games, with the Bulls losing last four games, covering three. Bearcats lost two of last three games, to Wake, Louisville.

      Louisiana Tech won four of last six games vs Boise; the Broncos are 0-2 on WAC road, losing by 7,18 points. Tech is 0-3 as home fave in WAC, losing twice, with a one-point win. WAC home favorites are 9-16 in '05.

      New Orleans won its last eight games over No. Texas, with Eagles losing last three visits to this site by 12,21, 26 points. Road team is 4-1 in UNT's Sun Belt games with North Texas losing three of last four. Privateers are 3-2 in league, 1-1 as home favorite.

      Arkansas State lost last four visits to Little Rock by 10 7, 2,3 points; they're 4-3 in league, splitting their road games thus far. Ark-Little Rock is 3-0 at home in Sun Belt, with wins by 10,3,7 points. Home side won last four series games.

      UTEP is 6-1 in WAC, but last four games were won by four or less points; Miners' last three wins are by a total of eight points. SMU is 3-1 as WAC dog, 1-3 in last four games SU. UTEP's win here last year was the first for them in last five tries.

      Georgia Tech lost last three games by 22,1,8 pts; they are 0-2 as ACC dog, and lost last two home games vs Wake Forest by 8,4 points. Deacons are 4-1 in ACC 2-1 on road, 3-1 as favorite, and 5-2 SU on road in all their games. Home side 8-4 in last dozen series games

      Virginia is 1-5 in ACC, 0-3 on road, but they've won five of last six vs ACC-newbie Va Tech, which won its last three games by combined total of four points. Tech has won those games by 1,1,2 points and is favorite for first time ever in ACC play.

      Western Kentucky is 2-2 in Sun Belt, 0-2 on road and they led both games at half; they're 0-4 vs the spread in league games thus far. UL-Lafayette won its last four games, with three wins by 10+ points. Faves are 3-1-1 vs spread in their league games.

      Denver is 5-0 in Sun Belt, 4-0 as favorite, with wins on road by 6,13 points; they lost four of last five visits to Mobile, with three of the losses by 9+ points. Jaguars are 2-4 in league, 1-1 at home; they won at Middle Tennessee last week, then lost in OT at Western Ky.

      Arizona State is hard to figure, with 0-2 home record in league, and 1-3 mark as fave; they won eight of last 12 games vs Washington State, but Wazoo swept the Sun Devils last year and are 3-1 as Pac-10 underdog this season.

      DePaul won its last four games, all by 11+ points; fave is 5-0 vs spread in their league games. Memphis is 3-1 as favorite in league, 3-2 overall; they're 2-4 in last six games vs Blue Demons, splitting pair of games here.

      Middle Tennessee scored just 60.7 ppg in losing last three games; home side lost last four games vs this foe, but New Mexico State lost both its league home games by 10 points and is 2-10 in its last dozen games overall

      San Francisco won its last three games, all by five or less points, but they're 0-2 on WCC road, losing by 3, 7 points. Santa Clara won its last four games, all by 11 or more points; they're 5-0 vs spread in WCC and are 5-1 in last six home games vs Dons (w's 11,10,7,3,3).

      Tulsa and San Jose State are both 1-6 in WAC; Tulsa lost its three road games by 35,1,12 points; their last two visits to this site were both won by a single point. Spartans' only WAC win was also by a point; they're 1-10 in last eleven series games.

      Oregon State lost its last ten games vs Stanford, losing last six visits to Palo Alto by 26,3,22,24,25,16 points. Cardinal won its last four games after 0-3 start, but the underdog is 7-0 vs spread in thier games. Beavers are 0-3 on Pac-10 road, losing by 9,18,40 points.

      Utah State is 7-4 in last 11 games vs Irvine, splitting in .last four at this site, with all four games decided by five or less points. Home side won six of seven USU tilts in Big West, with Aggies 1-3 on road; all four of their Ws in league play have been by 10+ points.

      UCSB won six of last eight games vs Riverside; they're 2-2 in last four at this site, and are 0-3 on road in Big West this year, with losses by 20,10,11 points. Cal-Riverside is 2-0 at home in Big West, as home side is 7-0 SU, underdog 5-2 vs spread in their league games.

      Home side won last four Cal Poly-Fullerton games, but ony one of last eight series games was decided by 10+ points. Titans are 4-4 in league, 1-2 as favorite; they have two double digit win. Cal Poly is 1-7 in Big West 0-4 on road, with losses by 21,17,11,20 points.

      St Mary's won ten of last eleven games and covered 3 of four as WCC favorite, wth home wins by 21,8 pts. San Diego is 3-1 as dog, 2-1 on road; they lost two of last three visits to Moraga, with losses by 19,3 points. WCC home favorites are 8-6 so far this season.

      Oregon lost last four visits to Cal by 4,16,4,16 points; Ducks are 1-3 in last four games, and only two of their seven league games have been on road thus far. Bears lost four of last five games; they're 0-3 vs spread at its gym, with losses by 20,9,16 points.

      Long Beach State is awful, 0-7 in Big West, with home losses by 8,16 points, but they're 8-4 in last 12 games vs Idaho team that is 0-2 on road, 5-0 at home in Big West. 49ers lost twelve in row, overall. Vandals are scoring just 58 ppg in its two road games.

      Pacific beat Northridge in finals of Big West tourney a year ago; they're 9-0 in league this year, with road wins by 8,2,12,15 points. CSUN is 7-2 in league, 4-1 in its home games, 7-1 in last eight overall. Home side won five of six in series, with Tigers 1-2 in last three here.

      Rice lost its last five visits to Hawaii by 14,15,29,8,27 points; these teams traded close verdicts in its last two WAC tourneys. Owls are 1-4 on road, but 5-2 in its league. Rainbows are 2-5 in WAC, with all five losses by four or less points.

      St Peter's won its last five games, all by 14+ points, as they won last two visits to Loyola by 19,14 pts. Both sides are 2-6 in MAAC. Peacocks are 0-5 in MAAC road; they won first meeting 99-83. Greyhounds lost their last three games.

      Siena blew 17-point halftime lead on road in last game Monday, losing at St Peter's; they're 1-6 in league, 1-4 as dog, but Niagara is 1-7 as favorite in MAAC, 0-3 on road, with four of their six league wins by five or less points.

      Home side won three of last four Manhattan-Rider tilts, with Jaspers losing two of last three at this site, with the losses by 1,2 points. Manhattan is 4-4 in league; they lost three games by a hoop, and fourth game in OT. Rider won eight of its last ten games.

      Home side won six of last seven Murray-E. Kentucky games, with Racers losing two of last three at this site. Murray won its last three games by 16,26,8 points; 4 of their five league wins are by 8+ points. E. Kentucky is 3-3 in OVC; 3-0 on Thursday, 0-3 on Saturday.

      Morehead State won six of last seven games against UT-Martin, with Skyhawks losing last three trips to this site by 1,28,2 points. Eagles won first meeting this year 81-73 at Martin. Road team is 6-0 vs spread in Martin games so far this OVC season.

      Austin Peay won six of last seven games vs Tennessee State, with Tigers losing last three visits to this site by 13,15,24 points. TSU won three of last four games, is vastly improved. Peay is 4-1 at home in league.

      Jacksonville State is 0-6 in OVC this year, 0-2 on the road, with losses by 12,6 points; they beat this foe by a 79-64 count last year. SE Missouri is 2-4 in OVC, but wins are by 19,13 points. OVC home sides just 12-20 vs spread so far this season.

      Portland State won its last three Big Sky home games by 11,10,13 points; Montana's 79-68 loss here a year ago was their first in last three visits to this site, where Vikings are 2-1 as home fave. Grizzlies are 0-2 in Big sky if they score less than 70 points.

      Montana State is 5-0 in Big West, 3-0 as road dog, with wins by 9,8,2 points. Favorite is 4-1 vs spread in Eastern Washington's league games; they're 5-1 in last six vs bobcats, with three of the wins by 4 pts or less.

      Today's Tips:
      Samford,-2-- Bulldogs are 6-0 in OVC, E. Illinois is 1-5. Samford won last year's meeting, 73-69; they are already 3-0 on OVC road, with all three wins by seven or less points, so they're comfortable playing close tilts in foreign courts. 30 tillettes on Samford, -2

      Arizona, -2-- Wildcats lost three times last year to this Washington team, so you can bet Wildcats circled this game on calendar in April. Both sides are 6-1 in Pac-10 play; Huskies' win in Tucson last year was their first in at least last six tries- this will be just their third road game in '05. 30 stoudamires on Arizona, -2.
