  • Boston College, please help

I was looking at Boston College@Providence a pk game and am wondering why people are choosing Providence?
They have lost four SU and last five ATS, on 1/8/05 they got beat @ BostonCollege by 9. I just think that Smith and Dudley are too good of a combo to get beat by this Providence team.
Unless one or both of the BC stars gets into foul trouble this should be another win for BC.
Please give me some info as to why Providence WILL win,
    Thanks

Nobody thinks BC will go undefeated on the season, so eventually they'll lose to a good team, probably on the road.

      Home court advantage

in line with lmerecer213, providence could win bc home court advantage in college hoops is a BIG factor. i personally don't see BC losing tonight, but if they do it would have something to do with playing on the road.

Personally I stay away from betting against undefeated teams or on teams on winning streaks in any sport;to me it is too much like trying to be the bigshot to show you can pick the game the team is going to lose;over a period of time I think it is a bad bet, and that you are better served betting on the team on the streak or passing entirely.
I didn't touch the Wisconsin/ Illinois game last night for the same reason-both teams had winning streaks going. and therefore I just decided to watch and enjoy.

rj told me last week that unranked teams at home that are favored against a ranked team are 6-1 this season and over 70% overall in recent years. I think BC has become the favorite by this time but that stat is one reason I would take Providence

i've also seen that play the over if the total is 125 or less, and i have been burned the last three times i played that stat!
and i guess if providence wins that your stat will improve to 7-1, but if BC wins that stat won't change, because by game time BC is the favorite?

I'm not playing this game, as I dont really like it, better bets out there. But if was too play it, I'd be on BC. You gotta ride out the undefeated team til they lose. IE. illinois last night. JMO

                      Road teams

Bc has won something like eight straight Big East games on the road dating back to last year. Over the last 3 seasons they are the best Big East road team, both SU and ATS. Don't have the exact numbers, but it's something like 70 percent on the road SU. And for those who are geographically challenged, it's less than an hour drive from Chestnut Hill to the Dunk. And earlier in the year, BC fought back from a 12-point deficit to beat PC going away as a 6-point favorite.

Its funny-I find it much easier to watch a game WITHOUT a bet on it!

                          I agree!

I rarely watch the games I bet. I've really enjoyed watching the last 2 weekends of playoff football. I didn't bet on a single game.
