NCAA FREEBIE: ALABAMA It is Kenny Walker (not the former UK Wildcat) bobble-head doll day at Coleman Coliseum today as the Tide welcome a Rebel squad that they have beaten and covered 4 of the last 5 games in the series on this floor. This Tide team is 12-2 at home and has a red-hot Erwin Dudley on their hands as the 6-8 F is scoring about 4 points more than his season average in the last 6 games popping in 19.7 PPG. Ole Miss comes in 3-10 SU in the SEC, 4-8 ATS and 3-6 ATS on the road. One common opponent stands out as both played Auburn on their respective home floors with the Rebs losing 80-75 and the Tide drilling the Tigers 84-68.

Free Winners for Sunday, March 2
    NCAA BASKETBALL
    Maryland @ NC State
    Pick: Maryland -3.5
    Time: 8:00 PM EST

Today the National Sports Advisors look for Maryland to cover as -3.5 point favorites, when they matchup with NC State in an ACC Conference matchup tonight.

Maryland enters tonight's game with an overall record of 18-7, including 10-4 in ACC Conference play. The Terps are just 4-5 away from from home, but they are facing a team that they have already defeated once this season. Maryland defeated NC State 75-60 back on January 30th of this year, which marked the seventh time in the last eight mettings that Maryland has prevailed. Maryland is just 10-12 ATS this season, but are on a 4-0 ATS run.

NC State enters tonight's game with an overall record of 15-9, including 8-5 in ACC play. The Wolfpack have been up and down of late, having lost four of their last seven games. If NC State wants to see their name called on selection sunday a few weeks from now, than they must close out the season strong. Tonight is a huge game for NC State, as they look to improve their NCC Tournament resume and improve upon their 13-2 homecourt record. The Wolfpack are 12-8 ATS this season, and have covered in five of their last six games.

So why MARYLAND? Well, Maryland has a great leader in senior point guard Steve Blake, and a battle tested team in tough environments. The Terps are trying to capture another ACC regular season championship, and they must win tonight to keep those hopes alive. While NC State has been tough at home, they still must compensate for matchup problems with the more talented Terps. Look for this one to stay competitive, but Maryland should pull away down the stretch

    Duke (-8) at ST. JOHN'S

    By Chris Jordan, Featured Handicapper

Guys, here in the college section I’ve given you eight winners with my last 10 free selections. Of course, I’ve been equally as hot with my major plays here at my site at the Big Green Machine. Saturday, I cashed in three of four 5* plays (Southern Illinois, Florida State and Michigan) and have now banked 14 of 18 college 5* plays the last four Saturdays.

The big news Saturday, though, was my rare 6* release (just the second in two-plus seasons) and YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT CASHED WITH TEXAS!!

    Today, I’ve got five winners that all tip-off between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. EASTERN. These games include, Arizona State-Cal, UConn-Pitt, Kentucky-Georgia, Timberwolves-Knicks and the Spurs-Rockets.

ONE OF THESE GAMES WILL BE MY SECOND 6* WINNER IN AS MANY DAYS!!! I’m almost drooling because I love this game so much.

Once again, you can get all my plays for just one low price of $20. Nobody gives a better deal on the Internet than that. No one as well begins to approach the type of in-depth analysis that I give you. I work hard at this craft and it is that hard work which is why I’ve been so successful in this business for such a long time. When you get my plays, you know exactly how they’ve been handicapped, and why the pick was made. Check them out!

Now as far as this free play, go with the surging Blue Devils over the slumping Red Storm. St. John’s has lost four straight and six of seven and is on a 0-3 SUATS run at home. In fact, St. John’s has posted a nasty 0-6-1 ATS mark in its last seven home affairs.

Duke owns St. John’s and has pasted the Red Storm by scores of 91-55 and 91-59 the past two seasons. Mike Krzyzewski has won seven of eight over St. John’s and brings with him a club today that has won four straight (over decent teams such as Virginia, Maryland, N.C. State and Georgia Tech) by an average margin of 13.5 points. They shot lights out the other night at Tech in winning and covering for the second straight road game.

Duke is doing it on defense, too, with 64 forced turnovers and 29 blocks in the last four games. Duke is heating up for tournament time and the Red Storm won’t have enough to slow them down. Play the Devils and lay the points.

    PICK: 2 DUKE

    U.Mass at RHODE ISLAND (-8)

    By Alan Rolli, Managing Editor

You had to love me yesterday for going 3-1 with winners on N.C. Wilmington, Memphis and Austin Peay. But no cards? No e-mails of appreciation? Guys, I'm not feeling the love. But, although rejected, we push forward.

Rhode Island carries a four-game losing streak into its home finale today against Massachusetts. But, remember, the Rams battled Xavier, Dayton and Temple during that streak, three of the four hottest teams in the Atlantic 10. And the other loss was against a good Richmond team desperate to end a five-game losing streak.

Today, the Rams take a huge step down in quality in terms of their opponent.

Masschusetts is coming off a 42-point loss at Temple in its last outing, and trust us, the game wasn't as close as the final score indicated.

U.Mass is 3-10 SU and 3-8 ATS on the road this year, and 4-9 ATS in Atlantic-10 action.

Rhode Island, 9-4 SU at home in the first year at its new facility, is 2-0 ATS as a home chalk of 6 1/2 to 9 points. And the Rams have covered three straight in the series, having upset U.Mass 60-53 as a 3 1/2-point road dog January 15 in the season's first meeting.

Make it four straight in the series as the Rams roll by 14.

    PICK: 3 RHODE ISLAND

    Now, my free selection...

Eighth-ranked Pittsburgh looks to keep pace with Syracuse in the Big East's West Division when it welcomes East Division-leading Connecticut to the Petersen Events Center.

Pitt fell one-half game behind Syracuse after the Orangemen rallied for a 93-84 overtime win at Georgetown on Saturday. The Panthers come in winners of three straight, including a 75-62 victory over Virginia Tech on Wednesday. With the victory, Pittsburgh notched its second straight 20-win season for the first time since 1986-88.

Pitt has been especially tough at home over the last two years, winning 30 of 31. The Panthers bring a 20-game home winning streak into the game, including 12 straight Big East wins at Petersen.

The Huskies (18-6, 9-4), meanwhile, come in as no strangers to home winning streaks, having ended No. 9 Notre Dame's 15-game run at the Joyce Center with an 87-79 victory on Monday.

Sophomore Ben Gordon led the way for the Huskies, who have won five of six, registering 25 points and eight assists. Connecticut has won two straight since coach Jim Calhoun's return from prostate cancer surgery.

U.Conn also enjoyed another fine game from sophomore Emeka Okafor, who had 19 points, 10 rebounds and six blocked shots. The 6-foot-9 center is averaging 15.5 points and leads the Huskies with 10.9 rebounds and 4.8 blocks per game.

Connecticut holds a 25-19 advantage in the all-time series with Pittsburgh. The teams last met in last season's Big East tournament championship game, won by U.Conn, 74-65, in double overtime. Connecticut is 5-1 ATS versus Pitt since 1997 and 6-0 SU. I look for this one to be close all the way and would grab the points whatever points you can.

    PICK: 2 CONNECTICUT

    Kentucky (-1) at GEORGIA

    By Sean Michaels, Featured Handicapper

Sean Michaels, your sports broker here, and we are ready to roll with action for Sunday.

I have no doubts that this will be my biggest Sunday of the year. All year long my #1 release has been my 1,000-star College best bet. Today I have my top four conference going on the same day! I'm hitting over 89% exclusively in the ACC, Big Ten, Big East and Pac-10 this season, and I couldn't ask for better match-ups than today's!

Also, my 100-star NBA best bets are on a 15-4 run.

I'm going to have one of my biggest Sundays and you have to be part of its. Do not make a move on games today until finding out who I am using. If you do that, you will save yourself some money and win big in the process! Take advantage of my eighth winning Sunday over the
    last nine weeks.

Your free pick goes to the best game on the board, Kentucky-Georgia.

All I have to ask you is this: Kentucky is playing great basketball on the road and if you are going to beat this team, you have to be mentally prepared in every facet of the game. With all the allegations surrounding another Jim Harrick coached team, I am going with the more focused team today.

My sources in Georgia tell me this situation has not been good on the players for Georgia. Play on Kentucky.

    PICK: 2 KENTUCKY

    Now, onto my free selection...

A huge ACC match-up, as the Maryland Terrapins visit the North Carolina State Wolfpack.

Maryland improved to 18-7 on the season after shooting 63% from the field and 60% from beyond the arc to crush Clemson, 91-52, in its last outing.

North Carolina State is 15-9, after needing overtime to defeat North Carolina, 75-67, on the road in its last game.

The Terrapins knocked off the Wolfpack earlier this season 75-60. They're just 10-12 ATS this year, but have covered four in a row. The Wolfpack are 12-8 ATS and have covered in five of their last six contests.

The Terrapins feature a fine offense (81.8 ppg) and a solid defense (65.7 ppg). Drew Nicholas leads the offensive attack, averaging 17.3 ppg. Ryan Randle is the Terps' top inside player and is averaging 13.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest. Steve Blake is one of the top point guards in the nation. Blake is averaging 12.5 points and an ACC best 7.9 assists per outing. Tahj Holden is adding 8.5 ppg.

Julius Hodge anchors the Wolfpack attack, as he averages 18.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Marcus Melvin helps upfront and is posting 12.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest. Josh Powell is adding 11.3 ppg. Scooter Sherrill, who scored a game-high 22 points in the win over North Carolina, is chipping in with 9.7 ppg. Clifford Crawford adds 9.2 points and 4.3 assists per outing. The Wolfpack are averaging 72.4 ppg, while allowing 66.7.

Watch the home dog win this game outright!

    PICK: 2 N.C. STATE

    Marist (+8') at NIAGARA

Today, the Dayton service has released its Atlantic 10 and Big East Games of the Year on Rhode Island-U.Mass and U.Conn-Pitt among three top-rated 10-star selections. The Sports Gambling Hotline's College Basketball Staff, on a 27-15 run, scored with Oregon crushing UCLA on Saturday. Today, they're going with Marist plus the points at Niagara.

Marist won and covered its third in a row with a 73-68 upset of Canisius as a 6 1/2-point road dog in its last outing.

Niagara is 4-6 ATS at home this year, and the road team has covered three in a row in the series.
