Justin Palmer Comp play from his email
And now to your Thursday comp play. But first, how easy was last night's college comp on Tennessee, a 12-point dog, outright at Florida
Tonight, take the Hawaii Rainbows at UTEP.
Don't get me wrong, I like this Miner team. They are going to have a shot at getting in the Big Dance for sure, but I really feel they are laying a bit too much tonight. Hawaii has actually been a decent squad this season and if they can get that low scoring pace which they prefer then there is absolutely no reason why the Rainbows cannot cover this contest.
It is certainly tougher that this game isn't on the island, but the Rainbows are 9-3 for a reason even if they do not play the toughest schedule. They have played three games on the mainland and all three were pretty darn good: A three-point loss at Nevada, a one-point loss at Fresno, and a victory at St. Louis. I would consider that very successful as Hawaii teams in the past would travel to the mainland and lay an egg game after game.
The Rainbows have also beaten a tough Southern Illinois squad, that one being at home though. Isn't it about time they get some respect by the linemakers?
UTEP is the better team of the two as the Miners are 14-3. But, they are vulnerable as well which you saw in the last game, a loss at Fresno State.
The Miners should be a 6-point chalk at most and if Hawaii can slow the pace down, UTEP could get upset.
