  • Orlando / Detroit

Lots of sour grapes on this particular game tonight .

A wise old man told me years ago that the most important number in the NBA is 2

We should never take 1 1/2 or lay 2 1/2.

As the season goes on this becomes all the more important.

Condolences to Magic Backers tonight .

    Best of Luck

Coverboy-I will be honest and in all due respect to Frank-I always, always buy off the two numbers you cite in college baskets and the NBA even if it means reducing the size of the bet.
Occasionally, I do the same with a few other games with hooks to increase my comfort level.

Say you laid 2 rather than 2 1/2 last night with Orlando for a $200 bet .. got a push and the 1/2 saved you 220.

That 220 buys you more than twenty 1/2 points down the line .

I get the 1/2 point routinely all sports ... no questions .. because I negotiate, but if I didnt I'd always buy when the 2 is involved in the NBA

I feel what you're doing is sound practice Savvy .

Coverboy-I really believe it has benefited me at least in my selection of games.
ps Re: Phil Stool-the only manure he is shovelling is that he says JB could be 23-1 if it weren't for some 1 point losses;Stool doesn't day how many of JB's wins during the run were decided by 1 point of a fluke basket at the end;it cuts both ways, BUT not for "Used Car Salesman-Say Only The Good Things" Phil Stool.

and it will keep on benefitting you as the season progresses .. the lines get sharper and sharper making carefully selected 1/2 points all the more valuable.

Keep up the good work ...

BTW I'm in the market for a used Ford Pinto ... my Nash Rambler up and died on me ... and to think ... only 375,000 miles !!! You know a good honest reliable trustworthy used car salesman who isn't gonna bang me the fuck out on the price ? Help me Savvy - Please help me !!! I'm desparate.

          Thanks, Man

Coverboy-in answer to your question: someone told me there is a good and honest used car dealer in Cleveland Ohio called Stool/Northcoast Motor Sales.
It is said that the manager, Phil Stool, is very honest and his speciality is used banged up Pintos with high mileage, which he has somehow magically restored.
The only trouble is that he overly enthusiastic, and if ask him about that car or any for that matter, he may ramble on( well you said you had a "rambler" so maybe it won't bother you) endlessly telling you its endless virtues.
If he tells you he has a Car of the Month, be careful, because rumor has it he has sold five of the month which have turned out to be clunkers, and he has some mad customers out there.
Anyways, the "best" part is that this Stool guy has a cousin named Phil Steele, also located in Cleveland, and the latter operates a Football Service called Northcoast Sports which a has a supposedly pretty good newsletter called Powersweep.
Anyway, my reliable source tells me that if you buy the car from this Stool guy, the Steele guy will offer you a 10 years subscription for this week only at the specially discounted rate of $1000.
You have heard about MM Sportsbook from daaa Manager and of course MM Boys referring to Maris and Mantle.
What about the SS boys, referring to Stool and Steele?
I hope I answered your question, and rest be assured that if Stool doesn't have any Pintos in stock, he will get you one OR refer you to one of his other dealers on the "Community Line."

Thank you so much for helping me out in my time of need.

Maybe I'll get a Mercury Marquis instead of the Pinto but to own a Pinto has always been my life long ambition.

              SCHTOOL RULES !!!

A Mercury Marquis-that's it!- From one of his "private" contacts.
ps A Pinto would be fitting for Schtool (as you call him), as that would be symbolic for his GOY"s for this season.

Coverboy-I am sure Schtool will be touting some 4 1/2 star plays this weekend-you know AFC Championship or NFC Championship, etc.
ps I didn't hear him mention once how he did in those college allstar football games last weekend; the GOY lock is that he didn't win them, otherwise he would be crowing about them also;I believe there are a few more allstar games to come, and once again "Hustler" Phil will try to convince the folks that he can handicap these games and win.
                      BOL to you tonight also.
