    Peyton Manning ...

is the very best around. Unfortunately he's saddled with a team who's coaching staff is not geared for playoff success.

With time he will surpass Otto Graham as the greatest QB who ever breathed .. that is ... in a different city or in the same city with a different coaching staff. I'm certain that by now Peyton's father realizes this.

If you've never seen or if not familiar with the late Otto Graham please do some fact finding. No one comes close to his standand of excellence.

    Good luck this week

Please also stop making excuses for peyton every year he doesnt win the big game. Remeber last year four picks in this game? Now your blaming the coaching staff. HE HAD A HORSESHIT GAME YESTERDAY LIKE EVERY OTHER BIG GAME IN HIS CAREER. INCLUDING COLLEGE. FREEKING TEE MARTIN WON A TITLE AFTER HIS ASS LEFT UNIVERSITY OF TENNESEE. AND HE TRULY SUKS. He gets to much credit when they win and to much of the blame when they lose.

People say it's the "System" Brady is in, well i believe the same to be true for Peyton. Brady could throw those "Timing" patterns all day long too. Peyton paniced several times yesterday and Tony it's the NFL. People are not open alot of times but you have to thread that needle once in a while instead of dropping it 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage to a back when a man is on them. Peyton is a great QB but he can't scramble or break free from an arm tackle. At this rate he won't win any more than his father did. People were not always "OPEN" for Favre and Elway either but their feet caused havoc when that happened and WR's became free and open. If Peyton doesn't have the timing pattern open right away then he gets "Happy" feet and if you think i'm wrong then you need to go back and watch the game tape. He plays great against other teams cause they sit back trying to stop the big play instead of attacking their offense like N.E. does. If your playing fantasy football then you want Peyton, if your playing in the playoffs then you want Brady in all weather conditions. The Playoffs are not going to be in a dome for every game and if you can't adjust to all conditions then your not as complete a QB as you think you are. The playoffs are NEVER played in mid-summer!

            Wayne,

I realize it is the NFL and you "have to thread the needle" but to blame Peyton for the loss yesterday is pure craziness. His recievers dropped passes, were NEVER open unless it was a short route, his coaches played right into the Pats game plan, they didn't run the ball consistently, and the D couldn't stop the Pats (I know they only scored 20 points but that is because the Pats sat back and chipped away, didn't take to many down field shots). Pats were disrespceted all week. Even you, a huge fan, bet against them. Not too many people gave them a shot. They played like they were a team that never won a Super Bowl. They played like they had something to prove. That is why the Pats won. They are the better team, and I think maybe the best team I have ever seen (only 25 years old, so probably for the last 15 years). Peyton could have "threaded the needle" but I think Pats were ready for that. Peyton would have had to be perfect to beat them yesterday, and the way the Pats played I still don't think that would have been good enough.

              its pretty clear

Manning is to Marino, as Brady is to Montana.. both good,
but one WINS in playoffs other puts up stats. BOTH are GOOD just at different things. NO need to argue or get too intense.

I love these kind of threads! I love the debate aspect and seeing how differently all of us see the games. I know that almost all of us watched every snapped and it still amazes me how many different ways everyone sees it!

People need to stop blaming the coaches so much. Remember who calls the plays, Peyton. He gets to the line early every time and has the option to call anything he wants. It is just as much on his shoulders for making that wrong call 50 times as it is the coaching staff.

You should have seen his face. He was shocked and didn't even know what to say. It was a "Classic" moment!

Boomer has balls to even say that. It isn't like he ever won a Super Bowl. He only went to one and wasn't even close statistically to Marino. That is a classic line especially while sitting next to him!
