Some call it luck, destiny, others call it a fixed game, I call it fate. Fate clearly controls our lives, it's the difference between winning or losing, living or dieing. I learned a valuable lesson this week when my wife was dianosed with colon cancer. As it turned out the opperation was successfull and the biopsy turned up to be the beginning stage and was caught in time. I thanked God for giving a a second chance. I burred a friend yesterday, he had esophagas cancer. His family was not as lucky as mine. He died within a week. That's fate. Pgh 's fate was that they were given a second chance and had the oppertunity to win because NY fatewas for their kicker to choke. Over the years Pgh won alot of playoff games the same way and won a SuperBowl in those same years. Francos' immaculate reception, Dallas's dropped pass in the endzone on 4th down in a Super Bowl. Look over the years at teams coming up short, Tennessee by one yard, Buffalo missed field goal vs NYG. Look at the others, NE's field goal against St Louis, and many others. But the bottom line is call it what you want, is controled by God. The only people that still think Pgh will win is Pgh fans. Just like the Boston fans last year in the World Series, they never doubted their team.

10 Dime---I was lucky!!!! Pgh's offensive play calling in the 2 and 3 quarter nearly cost them the game. It wasn't untill down and given the chance to win, did they finally go back to what got them where they are, Ball Control.

Chuck, GREAT thread. I'm a true believe in FATE. Looking back on many champions fate plays a huge roll. 1986 Mets vs. Boston. Just this past year Boston vs. Yanks. If that ball doesn't bounce into stands for a ground rule double Yanks win. Good teams get the breaks. Good teams create their own breaks. Good teams take advantage of the breaks.

Congrats (if that's the right word) on your wives successful surgery. My prayers go out to your wife and you for continued good health.

Thank Frank, I appreciate your kind thoughts. Teams that usually win the SuperBowl control the ball and play good defense, they get field position and don't hurt yourself. But if you can turn the ball over many times in the game and win, that's true fate.

Thanks Homer, both NE and Indy doesn't have great offensive lines, that should decide next weeks outcome and give Pgh attack defense an advantage. The defense beat NE the first game causing many turnovers. It's up to Pgh to control the ball and field position. Next weeks matchup is the way it should be, 2 of the best teams left, too bad they play next week and not in the SuperBowl. You brought your Pistons in, Wayne's teams both came in last year. It should be a fun wek, with a lot of different opinions on who's going to win.
