Game Date: 1/5/2005
Note: It is a rare day when we go against Duke. After all, the Blue Devils are one of the best covering teams in college hoops in recent years. Duke will try for their fourth of five years to open at a perfect 10-0. We think we have good reasons today to warrent the play against them. The Blue Devils are a bit shorthanded tonight with 2 forwards out for the game. Reggie Love will return sometime in February as he recovers from a broken bone to his foot. Shavlik Randolph is battling a sever case of mononucleosis. However, these injuries are not the major reason why we like the Tigers to give Duke a run for their money tonight. Joe Scott's team is playing very sound defense with only 53 points given up per contest. This goes well with their philosophy of creating the good shot and taking their time in doing so. The Tigers have also been sizzling from 3 point range hitting a whopping 64% (74-115) last 3 games. We think this game will be played "Princeton Style" throughout but even if it is not, the strong outside shooting of the Tigers should keep them within the number......
