      • In my opinion guys, you just have to be sharp and put your trust (and hard earned money) into following the RIGHT OPERATION(S). It's tough to weed through all of the garbage out here (with legitimate services) and then on top of that all of these instant overnight scam artist "handicappers" (like mrpickum, winagain, ***********, kyle baugues and all of those type operations) trying to schill all of the internet boards for a quick buck.

Forget those idiots, then either forget OR FADE 90% of the LEGITIMATE services out there (OCD, Mike Rose, Marcus Langdon, Big Al and Marc Lawrence being prime examples), and pick your small handfull of RELIABLE SOURCES to get your information from. My personal choices include Private Players, Alatex Sports, VSS Wins (football and baskets mainly), Executive Sportsline, the New York Wiseguys (baskets and baseball mainly), Guaranteed Sports (baseball and basketball mostly), Dr Bob and JB Sports (NBA only). Do all of those services win all of the time? no. Are there losing streaks? sure. But I can pretty much guarantee that I will never be in any big trouble following their info faithfully, and most of the time have a nice chunk of change to show for my time after all is said and done every season. I choose the handful of services that I decide to target and I use their picks to either circle, eliminate or take myself OFF a certain side of a game. And by the end of the nightly process, I come out with who I am going to bet every night. If anyone on this board is struggling with losses, my advice would be to begin to target the GOOD SERVICES, not the popular/big ones who advertise (like Big Al, Sebastian or Northcoast), and then things might begin to turn around.

There is alot of information out there, and I lost some good money for a period of time many years ago before I figured out which services to target, and since then everything has turned around. Best of luck to everyone this week, let's get some basketball winners and then some nfl playoff winners this weekend! Happy New Year to all and best of luck with whoever you have tonight (I am lucky enough so far to be on USC but that's what I thought about Auburn last night too)

        • Spark, you couldn't be more correct. I learned my lesson back in the late '80's. Stay away from the touts. I learned my lesson th e hard way...unfortunatly many on here are going thru the same thing I did 15-20 years ago.
There are more services to fade than there are to follow.
My point is, find the ones to fade , don't look for the ones that win once in a while.
It kills me inside when I see someone say "do you have soandso's plays, they have been hot lately" or "soandso has won 19 out of 20"
Let this be a lesson to the beginners.
One more thing...don't believe what you read.

          • OleBlueEyes-great and well thought out post, and your good and bad lists of cappers are very accurate.
That being said, I think many of younger bettors will have to find out the hard way as we did.
In addition, if you, I and others who have been around can just stop even a few from following and believing the scammers out there, we can have some feeling of satisfaction.
At one time I used to fall for the LIARS/SCAMMERS like Jack Price, the non-existent Corey Black(for whom Jack Price is the ventriloquist), Joh nny Demarco, Kevin Duffy, Stu Feiner,Mike Warren and some of the guys who you mentioned, the latter who while not scammers, are slick marketers and give people a false and slanted impression of their records.
            Keep up the good work!

            • savage, my "early teenage money" (geez, in high school and college) went unbelieveably to JEFF ALLEN, who I now find out was put in prision because of his boiler room operation! I sent the man about $1,000 bucks via western union in 1991 when I was a freshman in college. Of course, I LOST BIG with his crap games (at a time when I really could not afford to lose). That was alot of money for me that I decided to put into an INVESTMENT with Jeff Allen Sports (GOD HOW WRONG COULD ONE PERSON BE BUT I WAS SO YOUNG, HAD NO CLUE AND DIDN'T KNOW ANY BETTER). I lost a ton more over the next couple of years, and that is how I eventually found the light and discovered the WINNING services out there. I am relatively new at the "fading" process, but as Spark said - a BAD services is just as good to a player if not BETTER than a good service! For now, I am mostly focusing on my core group of services and playing that information, and having fun doing it for the last 10 years or so! the travesty of our hobby here is that 99% of the time, players like myself and others LOSE BIG before we get to the GOOD information that is out there. Hopefully people who follow this thread faithfully will see the results over time and realize that we are not just babbling about who to follow! best of luck to you this week pal

              • just wanted to also mention to everyone that is looking for FADES, that I would NOT recommend fading Marc Lawrence GOY 10*'s or Northcoast in 5*'s (despite Phil Stoole's human waste in this year's goy's). I have seen ML win his 10*'s consistently in football and baskets (even though his overall W/L% over the course of a whole season is HORRENDOUS usually every year) and Northcoast's 5*'s are usually solid despite Phil's bed shitting episodes this year in his goy's. best of luck to all tomorrow

                  • OleBlueEyes-you are right on again with your posts.
I go back to the 70's and learned the hard way with such scammers as Mike Warren. Stu Feiner, etc.;remember in 70's, 80's and for much of 90's unlike now there was no internet, whereby bettors could compare notes and expose these deceitful jerks.
I admire people who can really make a living at this;even though the great free cappers who posts here help, I bet quite small compared to others and VERY VERY small indeed as compared to what I put in the stock market;you can lose money there too, but for me at the age of 60 I don't need the aggravation of betting big and losing, and I do find the market a bit safer;most importantly I make my investing decisions pretty much based on my own research and have no need to rely on touts, as who we have seen in sports betting are wrong a lot more than they are right.

                      • hey savage, one last question for ya. What is the deal with Northcoast's big plays and the humungous line movement in the game every single time? Oregon 5* made at -6, closed at -9 (or 10?) and jumped from 6-8 even before I received the info, then the same thing happened with Denver/KC right? I have heard some rumblings that he is linked to sportsbooks and makes deals with the books so that they have his game before he releases it to his clients? If that is truly the case then that virtually wipes out ANY possibility of being able to reliably follow Phil's goy's if the line value is wiped out by 3-4 point movements. Just wanted to see if you knew anything about this (and bol to you in the market)......

inthezone, no disrespect friend, but a post like yours (in my humble opinion) is what makes it so difficult for people to know where to find good info. RULE #1 in service play threads is do not believe what you read. My list contains services who have won big, and won consistently, (documented) for about a decade in most instances if not much longer. Any service can have a good season, and all services will get hot at some point in every season. AND NONE OF THAT MEANS A DAMN THING. In my humble opinion, I am looking for the KINGS AND ACES of the deck that have been winning for many years and make a craft out of what they do. No disrespect to you or Red Zone Sports, I just find it amusing that 20 people will now respond with all of the services that they like, and one by one it will add up to a list of 100 leaving people looking answers with nothing but a jumbled mess of the names of virtually every non scamming service that exists! Have a great week guys, see ya'll tomorrow afternoon

                          • OleBlueEyes-You raise an interesting point re: NorthCoast-this is not an accusation but I raised my eyebrows at the beginning of the season when I received several offers from Royal Sportsbook offering me all kinds of free service from NorthCoast if I signed up with them and sent them money;if you recall, I posted the incidents and developments right here at Bettorschat.
I even contacted NorthCoast to find out if they had knowledge of Royal's offer and I was told they DID, and was pretty much told that they saw nothing wrong with it.
We all know how the lines jump with the release of Northcoast's plays especially the big ones.
Obviously we don't know for sure if NorthCoast tells the books in advance and/or there are other shennanigans going on;it sure raises suspicions and makes for good speculation though.
ps Thanks for the luck in market, and I have had a great year there, as anyone who had read the posts re: wlsf(Wellstone) in stock section will know.
Best of luck to you too in your betting and in general and keep posts and insights coming.
