Bowls YTD: 6-5 +0.2 units after hitting Bowl GOY Saturday
3* Virginia Tech +7
I posted this play a number of days ago when the line was +7 which is where I will rate the play for my own purposes as that's where I bet it. It's a great play, however, getting any points because I see an upset here. Auburn nags at me because they've played a deceptively soft schedule. Only quality wins were at Tennessee, neutral field vs. Tennessee, and against Georgia. That's not chopped liver but the other games were against lousy teams. To talk of Auburn in same breath as Oklahoma and USC is silly. Virginia Tech, on the other hand, had USC on the ropes in the season opener and ended up as the hottest team in America---winning 8 in a row including a 49-point win over decent Maryland, a two touchdown win over a strong Virginia team and then beating Miami at Miami! They played at least as well as Auburn the last two months. I'll take Beamer with a month to prepare as a bonus even though his bowl record is only 4-7 ATS. V-Tech has everybody healthy after a few key injuries mid-season. I strongly believe Auburn would be about 9-3 if it had played V-Tech's schedule. V-Tech wins--- proving once again that the BCS system works!
Also: posted much earlier was another 3* play tomorrow on Oklahoma (all games are rated at 1-4 with 4 being GOY. In other words, I love these plays.)
