  • Par's Plays

I have followed this site for the last two year's and rarely post picks, but I am going to try get more involved in that area next year (and for the remainder of this year). I usually fair pretty well in the NFL & NBA (I look for outside advice with other sports). My posted record at BC this year is 6-2 (+10.6 units)........... and that was the only week I posted.

Thanks to the likes of Spaarkie, Homer, Wayne, EZ, etc. for all of the plays that you have helped with since Day1!

    NFL WEEK 17:

3* Philly (+3) - I just don't see how Philly can be getting points at home agtainst a sorry Cincy team. I understand they will be short-handed, but Philly still wants to win, and I think their second team can beat Cincy at home.

2* Seattle (-5.5) - This pick is a little scary b/c I am not sure how much Vick will play. If Vick just plays a few series then Seattle should cover the nmumber pretty easily.

2* Houston (-10) - I think Houston is going to be one of those teams that finishess the year strong, and rides the momentum inrto next year (They will be next year's Cinderella). The Cleveland team that is taking the fielde these days is one of the worst squads I have ever seen. Houston wins big.

2* Pittsburg (+9) - I know Pittsburg will be without some starters, but their defense is the most physical defense in the leageu, and they probably will bring Bledsoe back to reality. I think Bledsoe is one of the most overrated players in the history of the NFL, and he has been beating up on weak teams as of late. Cowher will not let the Steelers let down despite theitr home--field situation.

2* New Orleans (+7.5) - I think Carolina probably wins the game, but New Orleans will have some momentum (4 wins in a row) and motivation (playoffs) that should help them keep this game close.

2* St. Louis (+3.5) - I haven't seen or heard of too many people agreeing with me on this one, but St. Louis still plays well at home, and they still have a shot at making the playoffs. I just hope Martz sticks with running the football!

1* Indianapolis (+8.5) - I think the Colts can cover the number here. They will not want to lose a game by double digits going into the playoffs.

1* Dallas (+3) - I am a Copwboy fan that can't figure out why Parcells is so STUBBORN, but that is also why I like them to win thios week. Most Cowboy fnas have been begging for one of the young quarterbacks to ge t a chance, but Parcells seems to haev a man-crush on Vinny. Parcells is treating the game like it actually means something (all it means to be is the Cowboys will hurt their draft pick).

new orleans is also 4-1 avenging a home loss su and against the spread. my fear is i am the lucky holder of a saints over 7.5 wins for the season. my guess with all the hype at the beginning of the year that the saints will lose the game but like you said probably cover.
its easy to grin when your ship comes in...

I agree with some of your picks but strongly disagree with the rams +3 1/2, I know they beat the ealges third teams last week but two weeks ago in a must win game they let the cardnals whop them. I look for the Jets to roll.

Jets will (should) crush the pathetic Rams. Also, trust me, Atlanta will cover. Falcons are pissed off over showing last week. Seattle has a terrible D. If they win, it will be by a FG. Liking the Saints a little myself.

            playoffs

*I like the "over" in the St.Louis / Seattle game and I am leaning towards taking the Broncos and 10 points.

*I can't believe the gutless Seahawks allowed that last touchdown to Matt Schaub!

*I had Philly pegged all wrong! I think they are really going to struggle to regain their form.
