Bowls YTD: 2-1 +0.9 units after going 2-0 Thursday
    1* Hawaii -3 1/2
Hawaii is the most schizoid team in college football this year. The team has played disgracefully and with no heart on the road, downright quitting on national TV vs. both Boise and Fresno. But they're a different story at home. Hawaii beat both Northwestern and Michigan State at home to end the season as both opponents wore down at the end against Hawaii's relentless passing attack. Also: this is Timmy Chang's last game in his 9-year career (or so it seems) and they're likely to throw 85 percent of the time. uAB's a decent team but was terrible against the pass in road games this year---giving up 60 percent completions on the road. And this is a road game.

I was waiting for someone to point this out. Both of those Big Ten teams (especially Mich. St.) had nothing left in the fourth quarter. They could not stop Hawaii's offense. Say all you want about the officiating in the MSU game. The bottom line is, I have never seen a team hold so much in a looooooooooooooong time. I guess for the Big Ten, they're so used to going up against guys their height (6' 3" -6'8') that they could not adjust to blocking guys in the 6'2" and under range. The Hawaii players were able to slip under their blocks. Forcing MSU to envelope them, where holding would be called. They also had 7 illegal procedure penalties too. So the disparity is not what one might think.

Taking Hawaii here in a shootout. Merry Christmas and good luck to all.

Weather for today- Skies are really dark. We've had heavy rain Wednesday and nothing but sunshine yesterday. Looks like heavy rain today. But in Hawaii, If you wait five minutes, the sun usually comes out after it rains.
