    Had a good Mon 2-0
    Now 13-13-1 posted plays
6-1 in the last 7 and hope to continue

    Tonites call will be
    Loy-Chi -3.5 over Youngstown St.

Tough to lay points on the road with this L-Chi team as they are 0-4 on the road this year. But 3 of those 4 losses came against tough foes (NC, W Mich and Bradley).
This is both teams Horizon Conference opener.
Chi has played the tougher sched. so far (RPI ranked 92 vs. Youngs 235). Chi leads the conf in steals and Youngstown is last in conf. turning it over 17.3 times per game.
Loy has won 4 of the last 6 v. foe and the 2 losses were by a combined 3 points. In a 1 pt loss last year at youngstown Chi shot 55 %. Ramblers have improved in 3-pt productivity from 27% last year to 33%, and seem to be improving heading into this game. Schilb has been avg. 14.7 ppg in the last 3
Both teams are close in most stat categories but Loy's was against tougher.
There may be some value in playing the game early as the overnight was -5.

Good Luck to everyone on whatever you play.

      Adding
      UCLA +17 over Michigan State

Part of my handicapping is trying to figure (if at all possible) why the line came out the way it did.
The way I see it with this one is that on 12/18 the Bruins opened at -4 over Michigan. The majority of the money was played on UCLA, playing it to -5'. They won SU but lost ATS. (burning their supporters)
Mich State was -13 over Stanford (their last lined game) and bet to -14'. They won SU and ATS , easily by 25.(rewarding their backers)
So I believe the line may have been made believing Mich St. backers will ride their gravy train and UCLA supporters will turn their back on them and play Mich St.
I also believe the fact this is UCLA's first real road game has an effect on the line. I believe homecourt is over emphasized by the public. It is important but not enormous.
The teams match up closely, at least statistically. The Spartans are better but I don't feel 17 points better.

      Good luck. Sorry so wordy.

        1-1 last night
Shame on me for thinking Loy Chi would break their 16 game regular season road loss streak.
        UCLA loses by 12.
