  • Thursday's Bitch Slaps

    Sorry for the two losing 5 plays last night. The Phoenix over was a killer as it looked great through 3 quarters. Same thing happened in the 2nd half of the Spurs game, as SA scored 12 in the 3rd followed by Orlando getting 15 in the 4th. That's happened several times to me in the last few days......teams just shitting on themselves late.

    Ended up going 7-7, but for those of you who only followed just the big plays, you got slaughtered. Hopefully I'll turn it back around.

    Cleveland +5' - Really like the Cavs in this spot. They actually had to travel less than Detroit did last night, and got a chance to rest their regulars late in the game, which Detroit did not. But what really tips the scales for me is how awful Detroit is as a favorite this year. They are 3-11 laying chalk, and only 1-10 ATS vs. a conference opponent. Both teams on a back-to-back, and the Cavs are 4-2 ATS in those games. These two teams met back at the end of November with Cleveland winning easily, but Detroit was without Ben Wallace. Lebron torched a good defender (T. Prince) for 43, including getting to the line 12 times. My guess is that changes a bit with Wallace blocking up the middle, but Ilgauskus should do better than 2-13.

    Milwaukee -2 - Here's one of those lines that just don't seem. If you look at how each team has been playing, you wonder why Chicago isn't favored by 6. Over the last 8 days, the Bulls have pounded Cleveland, lost a close game to Philly, beat Minnesota by 11, lost to Dallas by 1 in a game they just flat out blew with two idiot plays down the stretch, and beat Memphis on the road. Milwaukee on the other hand, has lost 6 of 8, with their only 2 wins coming against a bad Indiana team. However, what would this line be if the Bucks hadn't self-imploded their last two losses (Sac & Philly) in the 4th quarter? I'm going to take the more talented team here in a close game. Amazingly, the Bucks have played within three points of the posted line in their last 5 games and 7 of 10. So I think this will be close. The Bulls are a bad FT shooting team (26th in the league), so I don't trust them down the stretch. Milwaukee is 2nd in the league in 3pt%, so they have some shooters that can bring them back, if they're down. Milwaukee doesn't turn the ball over (6th fewest) while Chicago turns it over more than anyone in the league. When it comes down to it, I don't trust the Bulls in a close game down the stretch. If Milwaukee wins by only 1, so be it, but if they win, they should cover.

    Pistons/Cavs UNDER 176 - Lot of stats lead to this, although I'm hesitant to make it a bigger play with the luck I've had in totals this week. Last 7 in this series have gone under, 12 of last 15 Detroit home games under, Under is 4-0 when Detroit wins by 4 or less, yada, yada, yada......

    Bulls/Bucks UNDER 187' - Same as above.....Under is 12-2 with Chicago as a dog, 6-2 w/Milwaukee as favorite. Under 4-0 in Milwaukee div. games, 4-0 after Chicago SU win.

    Huggy Bear/10 Pimp = 3-0
    5 Pimp = 15-7
    4 Pimp = 17-18
    3 Pimp = 26-19
    2 Pimp = 32-25
    1 Pimp = 12-20

    Opinions = 42-27

      gl,HD. take a closer look at the Bucks, for they are loaded with injuries. They will probably suite up only 10 players. Strickland and VanHorn are on the roster but are unable to play.They are even having a hard time having enough players to hold a practice.Santiago,Ford and Kukoc are not expected to play any time soon. Just thought this info could be of some help to ya and not trying to talk you off your pick. Wasn't sure if you were aware of the Bucks situation. Good luck and totally respect your input and picks

        yeah, knew about the Bucks injuries.....the three you named will be out for awhile, and haven't played much this year (if at all). Strickland is also out, but with Redd/Mason/Smith, etc, they should be ok tonight. Keep that in mind though when they play back to backs (29th in Orlando).

                Cleveland 6 points in the 3rd quarter???? Good for the under, but not for my Cavs wager!
