Iowa has lost 7/9 and I wouldn’t know why it wouldn’t be 8/10 after a visit to Columbus tonight. If the Buckeyes can win and cover against Purdue, Minnesota, and Indiana at home, why not Iowa? Ohio State won at Iowa 83-72 earlier this year. Ohio State has owned this series winning five of the last six and crushed Iowa by 17 points last year on this floor. Both teams have 14 wins and the loser tonight can go ahead and accept an NIT invitation now. Scheduling is a big deal the rest of the way for these tw! o teams. Following tonight, Ohio State has Northwestern on the road and Michigan State at home. They should be favored in all three. After Columbus tonight, Iowa has to travel to Indiana and Michigan State before finishing at home with Northwestern. Those are three very difficult road games for the Hawkeyes. Hawkeyes have no clutch player that demands the ball like Luke Recker from a season ago. Monster game for Coach O’Brien and the Buckeyes should respond tonight.

We will be playing the Lakers and Clippers OVER the posted total of 197.5 today. We acknowledge the fact this series has produced 5 games under and 1 game OVER the past 6 meetings. We have reason to believe however, this match up will be different. The Lakers have demonstrated some interesting tendencies this year and they all point to this game going OVER. Let us briefly explain.

Quite simply, the Lakers are a quintessential OVER team. As a matter of fact, they are an amazing 35-20 OVER on the year and 18-11 OVER at the Staples Center. That’s right, if you had blindly bet $500 on the OVER in each Lakers game season; you would be hitting at 64% and have netted $6,500 in profit.

Digging a bit deeper, it seems the Lakers play OVER primarily versus lesser opponents. Consider their past 10 games overall. LA has played 4 teams during that span that currently hold playoff seeds, which were Portland, Utah, San Antonio and Indiana. The OVER was just 1-3 in those contests as the Lakers defense held those foes to 92 points per game.

In a nutshell, the Clippers fall into the non threat category and we expect a boatload of points tonight.
