According to ESPN radio, Pedro Martinez's agent has told the Mets he doesn't want a shoulder MRI included in the right-hander's physical.

That had to be a great conversation. There's still time for this to all fall apart, but even if it does, there's no guarantee the Red Sox would be willing to take Pedro back (though he could accept arbitration if he wants). An MRI on Martinez's shoulder is sure to turn up some significant damage -- the Mets knew that going in.
