Giants (5-7) @ Ravens (7-5)- Jim Fassel, ex-Giant coach, is consultant for Ravens, which could give him insight here. Big Blue in freefall, with five losses in row, scoring just 9.3 ppg in last four; in three games with Manning starting, Giants have one TD on 29 drives- they've been outscored 42-6 in first half of those games. Ravens blew 20-3 4th-quarter lead last week; they're 4-2 vs spread at home, with wins by 17-14-14-20 points. Baltimore is 0-3 if they allow 6.0 yards per pass or better; Eli has averaged 4.2/4.3/4.1 in Eli's three starts.

Bengals (6-6) @ Patriots (11-1)- Corey Dillon vs his old team, a team that has won four of last five games, with only loss 24-19 at Steelers. Bengals scored 85 points in last two games, and rallied from 20-3 deficit to win last week; their last double digit loss was Week 6 in Cleveland. Patriots won and covered all five games since loss at Pittsburgh, with four of the five wins by 18+ points- they're 4-1-1 vs spread at home. Cincy allowed 123+ rushing yards in eight of 12 games this year; Ravens got them for 192 last week, with Jamal Lewis out.

Browns (3-9) @ Bills (6-6)- Cleveland lost last six games, allowing 100 points in last two games they've allowed 203.8 rushing yards per game last four weeks; with interim regime in place, they are candidate to tank, especially on road. Buffalo won and covered five of last six games, scoring 38.7 ppg in winning last three (12 TD's/last 37 drives), and they've averaged 7.0/7.3/7.8 yards per pass attempt in those games, after throwing for 7 yards per attempt just once in first nine contests. Bills have 13 takeaways in last three games (plus-8).

Lions (5-7) @ Packers (7-5)- Green Bay outrushed Lions 157-33 in first meeting, as they broke open close game in second half of 38-10 win. Pack had six-game win streak snapped last week; they've scored 40 ppg in winning last three home games, after starting year 0-3 in Lambeau. Lions ended five-game loss streak last week; they're 3-3 on road, 4-2 as road dog, with losses by 10-6 (ot)-3 points. Detroit is minus-8 in turnovers last two weeks; they have just four TD's on their last 57 drives. Over is 7-1 in last eight Packer games.

Seahawks (6-6) @ Vikings (7-5)- Tough spot for Seahawks, traveling on short week, after late loss Monday night, second time this year they lost home game they led by double digits with under 6:00 to play. Seattle is 1-6 if it allows 23+ points; Vikings average 24 at home. Edge for Seattle is porous Minnesota run defense that allowed 160 rushing yards per game over last six weeks. Vikings are 5-0 if they allow 22 or less points. Seattle lost three of last four road games; they allowed 81 points last two weeks (ten TD's on last 24 enemy drives).

Raiders (4-8) @ Falcons (9-3)- Oakland lost 35-14 in only previous carpet game this year, at the Colts; they have no sacks in three post-bye games, and allowed 18 TD's on last 53 opponent drives. Atlanta was blanked last week; they're 5-1 at home, with three of the five wins by three or less points (1-4 last five tries as home favorite). Over is 4-1 in last five Raider games, as poor tackling defense has yielded 423 yards per game last three weeks. Last four Falcon games stayed under, as Falcons scored just 15.5 ppg in those games, but Atlanta has run ball for 190 yards per game over last five contests.

Bears (5-7) @ Jaguars (6-6)- Chicago has forced 17 turnovers in its five wins (3.4), 8 in their seven losses (1.14); they're 3-3 on road, 4-2 as road dogs. Bear QB Hutchinson gets first road start vs Jaguar squad that lost three games in row and four of last five. Jags have only five TD's on their last 53 drives- in their last two games, on nine drives inside the opponents' 20-yard line, Jags have five FG's and only one TD, which is why they lost two winnable games. Bears have four TD's on their last 52 drives. Under is 5-1 at home with Jags, and unless defense/special teams score points, doubt this game will get over total.

Saints (4-8) @ Cowboys (5-7)- Dallas defense still shaky (507 allowed Monday, and 14 TD's in last 49 drives), but they're still in contention thanks to wild finish Monday night, while Saints are 2-7 in last nine games, allowing 30 ppg during three-game losing streak. In five games since its bye, NO has allowed 167 rushing yards per game, good news for Dallas team that has 352 rush yards in last two games, behind rookie RB Jones. Over is 4-1 in Saints' road games, with average total of 51.4. Saints are 0-7 if they score less than 27 points, but Dallas has allowed 30+ in three of last four games.

Colts (9-3) @ Texans (5-7)- In first meeting, a 49-14 Colt win four weeks ago, Indy forced four turnovers and scored five TD's on seven drives that started less than 80 yards from Texan end zone- they also sacked Carr five times. Houston lost four of last five games, scoring 14 or less points in the losses; they're 5-2 if they score 20+ points, but improved Colt defense has allowed just one of last four foes to do that. In last two games, Texans allowed five TD's, four on drives of 42 or less yards. Team that led at half lost last three Houston games.

Dolphins (2-10) @ Broncos (7-5)- Denver lost last two games in snow, rain; the last eight times they started drive in enemy territory, they scored a mere pair of FG's. Broncos have 13 3-and-outs on last 27 drives, which hurts field position, causing 15 of those drives to start 80+ yards from enemy goal line. In their last ten games, Broncos are 6-0 if they allow less than 20 points, 0-4 if they don't; Miami scoring 24.3 ppg under Bates, scoring 32 points last week despite seven turnovers. As bad as Miami has been, they have only two losses by more than 10 points, Week 5 at Patriots (24-10) and three weeks later at Jets (41-14).

Rams (6-6) @ Panthers (5-7)- Chandler at QB, both Faulk and Jackson are banged up, Rams have lost all four non-division road games by 17-17-20-28 points, and now Carolina is hot, winning and covering last four games by average score of 29-18. Panthers are plus-11 in TO's last four games, picking off ten passes. Panthers are just 1-4 as favorite this year, but they play harder than Rams, and are scoring better (31.3 ppg last four games; Rams 16.7 last three). Rams are 2-3 as dog this season, but they signed Jamie Martin off street to backup the brittle Chandler, so if something happens, this could get ugly.

49ers (1-11) @ Cardinals (4-8)- Only 49er win this year came over Arizona in Week 5, when Cards led 28-12 with 5:00 left and lost in OT; since then, feeble Niners have dropped seven games in row, covering twice, both times when they were getting 10.5 points. 49ers have been outscored 41-6 in first half of their last three games. Arizona back to McCown at QB, after three-game debacle with King and Navarre starting. Other than 34-10 win over Saints in Week 4, only Arizona wins this year are by 8-1-3 points. In Week 13, this is first time Arizona has been a favorite this season.

Jets (9-3) @ Steelers (11-1)- Jets outscored last three foes 43-0 in second half; they've held opponent without a point in six of 12 second halves. Pitt offense struggling of late, with only four TD's on last 28 possessions, but they have won ten games in row, allowing just 10 ppg in last five. Steelers are plus-14 in turnovers in winning streak. Jets are 7-0 when they get two or more takeaways, 2-3 if they don't; their losses are by 6,5 and 3 points. Under is 5-0 in last five Steeler games, 3-0 in last three Jet games.

Buccaneers (5-7) @ Chargers (9-3)- Gruden won Super Bowl on this field two years ago, seems like longer. Bucs are 5-3 since 0-4 start, but they're 1-5 on road, with the only win at Saints in Week 5; they're 2-5-1 as a dog this season. Bolts are 8-0-1 vs spread in last nine games, and won six in row, although last two were both by slim FG. Five of their six home games went over, but last four Buc games stayed under. Chargers are 3-0-1 as favorite this year; they're plus-8 in turnovers last five games.

Eagles (11-1) @ Redskins (4-8)- Skins trailed just 7-6 at half three weeks ago in Philly, but lost 28-6, going 3-and-out on six of ten possessions; Eagles outrushed then 126-51 and were 9 of 15 on third down. Skins kicked pair of FG's on three trips in red zone, while Eagles scored four TD's in four red zone trips. Washington held seven of last nine foes to 17 or less points, with those seven unders, the other two overs. Eagles are 4-2 vs spread on road; they've averaged 8+ yards per pass attempt in three of last four games.

Chiefs (4-8) @ Titans (4-8)- Tennessee defense not up to snuff, as Fisher onside kicked three times last week; he basically admitted he couldn't stop Colts, and Chiefs are almost as good as Colts on offense, scoring 65 points in last two games, 31+ in five of last seven. Six of last nine Titan games went over total; they're 2-6 if they allow 20 or more points, and are just 1-4 at home. Chiefs in rival sandwich (Raiders/Broncos) but teams seldom flat on the national Monday night stage. KC has just six takeaways in their last nine games (-10).

          Cincinnati @ New England

The Bengal's are 6-3 ATS L/9 and 3-0 ATS L/3 versus the Pats. Six of those nine meetings went 'over' the set 'total'. Cincinnati is 5-1 ATS L/6 but just 2-6 ATS L/8 on the road. New England is 5-0 ATS L/5 and 9-1 ATS L/10 that includes going 4-1 ATS L/5 at home. The Bengal's have gone 'over' in 5 of their L/6 on the road. The Patriots are 1-3-1 L/5 favoring the 'under' at home. Cincinnati is 1-6 ATS L/7 games 4 of the regular season. New England is 7-2 ATS L/9 and 32-16 ATS L/48 in the last 4 weeks of the season. The Pats are 5-1 ATS L/6 as a 10 point favorite or more. Cincinnati is 3-0 ATS L/3 as a road underdog of 10 or more points. The Bengal's are one of the NFL's worst teams against the rush allowing 141.9 YPG.

          Cleveland @ Buffalo

Old Dominion and East Carolina used to be rivals in the CAA; ODU's last four visits to this site were won by total of 11 points. Visiting team is 5-3 in last eight series games, with teams splitting last four at this site.

NC-Wilmington is 4-1, 3-0 at home, with wins over Marshall, Campbell, VCU. UIC is 2-3, 1-1 on road, with win at Illinois State. Flames also came within point of beating Georgia Tech at home. Seahawks 4-0 if they allow less than 60 points.

                    Hi Spark

I always enjoy your `trend` column, but I think there is a stat error in your NFL matchups.....If the Bucs have the best passing D((TB Vs. Chargers) allowing about 160 YPG, how can the `Da Bears`( Chicago Vs.Cincy) have the 2nd worst D against the pass allowing about 130 YPG?....Think it should be closer to about 200 YPG, no?...GL today buddy
