  • A message to newbies........

I know i am taking up too much space lately.in fact, i have been checking my personal email waiting for wayne or BC to email and say "ok, shorty, enough is enough"

However, to the new guys, or to the guys that keep wanting to post but are too scared to do it (i was this way for over a month before i started)---->If you think in any way you can contribute with your picks, please post...........if you start off 0-3 or 2-8, who cares??? I for one, look at almost every post where there is a play, whether it is someone with the creditials of wayne or someone who is posting for the first time...........we are not competing against each other, so if you know what you are doing, or think you wanna take a shot at it, there can never be enough people posting games!!!!!!!!!

Lastly, to all you guys who post games and then see only a handful of views, please do not let this discourage you either, sometimes even 50 views may mean 20 people bet your game and won cash and they will keep looking for you. There are countless ampunts of people on this site who have their favorite cappers and you may be that person for a lot of people (say that 20 times)

ok, i promise i am done lecturing for a while

    Shorty I agree 110%

I'd rather see newbies post their selections and go 3-8 with those selections than the newbies that choke the bandwidth looking for the scamdicapper's CRAP! Newbies not taking time to read through the service thread when selections have already been posted. Newbies creating new threads seeking service picks.

I have the utmost confidence that any capper that caps their own games and posts them here will cap better in the long run. Guys never forget a very good capper will lose 42% of their bets.

Over 10 years ago I used to cap my own games. I did very well. Then I had a family and a long commute to work. I became a lazy capper. I didn't go well. I paid for a service. Of all cappers Loser Lawrence. He was very mediocre.

Being a member of this site for a year now has given me the confidence to cap and play my own games once again. I've learned lots from fellow members. Mostly, my closest buddy Coverboy. As well as my other partner Kmann.

I have to tell ya. I am a moderator from a very huge biker site and post stuff all the time. I have to admit I have been basically just lurking and never really posting here on this site. Why I don't know.Nervous about it, maybe could be the answer. I registered last March, but had been observing what every one had to say. I have picked up very good quaility plays from a few of you that I for sure watch day in and day out. Especially basketball for I am not good at capping buckets and don't have the time, between running my own business and being so involved in the other site.
I now would like to take my hat off to all of you and especially frankb for posting his post , welcoming me to the site and making me feel welcome.
I am a honest and up front every day guy just trying to make a plus in this battle againt the books. Respect and believe in your plays. I have dealt with services for 20 years and there are probably 2 or 3 that I would ever give any credit to out of the thousands that are out there.
To make along story short, its Frankb and your recent posts that have now helped me to start posting on this site, instead of just lurking. Also thought I would add my 2 cents when I seen the bashing going on for me being a moderator from another site.
Shorty, I follow your plays religiously, along with a couple of others. You can only ride so many, for ya can't play the whole board every day.
Thank you again, and I will start to post my NFL picks from the contest I am in were so far I am 35 and 25 with the required 5 picks you have to make each week. Good luck to everyone.

PS. I look for your plays every day. If you got the time could you please leave a post if you are not gonna have anything that day. If not I totally understand and will just keep looking.
      Go Pack Go lol

      Thanks again

          some insight

Know what I find interesting? Occasionally around here a virus spreads because of some classless people that make some classless remarks. It takes a couple days to get this out of "our" system, but once its gone, this forum comes back stronger than ever. There is a reason why people say this is the best forum on the net. It really is. There is character here, combined with some very sharp intelligence. Its posts like this from proven veterans that really makes everyone feel better about what we are trying to do, whether we succeed or fail in any given time period. I encourage any lurkers out there to stick around for the long haul because this forum truly isn't like any other. It really has a "neighborhood" type of feel with 95% support and well wishes. I am sure glad I found it and will contribute as much as I can in the future. Thanks shorty for the encouraging post and for everyone here trying to keep the big picture in mind and realize the business we are in is never easy. Best of luck to all!

Ignore the jerk and he or she will finally disapear. Ego's are for the services and why I don't know. But I do think with some off these post you guys have posted will for sure bring to this site alot more good people with the same intrest as all. To help if they can, and thats all ya can ask for. Again hope to get to know all of you better. Hey any of ya ride. 2003 FXSTDSEi , 103 cube 113 hp and goes like a rapped ape for A Harley. Any of ya go to Sturgis.

              thanks

we all could use a helping hand, and for those that dont know, last year i started off like 9-1, then i think i iwent 0-7 or 0-8 and apparently got blasted so badly, BC took the thread off before i ever saw it............what i did see was about 15 vets (at the time i was a rookie) coming to my rescue..........needless, to say, things corrected themselves and i ended the college basketball year close to 67%.........

i think the newbies would be suprised how well they will do if they post............i am not a 67% capper, i was because i learned a lot from the vets here and it made me better.........every one of us can learn and the vets can learn from the rookies, believe me we can..............

so please post and disregard the losers that blast you..........like i said, i mixed in an 0-7 or 0-8 as a rookie and survived it

we can never have enough posters here!!!!!!!!!

Shorty3830. I remember that. Now you remember this. I don't know, if you really know, how much you are respected. My buddy was telling me about your plays and I basically ignored what he had to say. Boy was I a dumbass. It didn't take me long to learn to listen. You are as consistant and as good as anyone I have seen. Any body hitting at the % RATE THAT YOU DO, IS REMARKABLE. YOU ARE AS GOOD AS THEY COME. And I for one don't want to miss one single play no matter what.

Thank you for your posts and I think I have said enough.

Good luck and I really do love your JAG play.

Thanks for the thread. At the risk of sounding like a school girl, your wrte up is exactly what I thought and felt like. Like an aa meeting I guess it's good to know there's others out there.

Shorty, last season you were everyone's best friend when you started with a bang. When you had that short losing streak many wanted you lynched. Even though you still showed a healthy profit.

A true capper realizes there's going to be losing streaks. A TRUE capper recognizes those losing streaks and bets with their head. DON'T CHASE! This past baseball season the same happened with the 3 wise men. During our lull Coverboy would stress cut back the amount you play and ride out the lull. It's called money management.

I have a strict rule that I always adhere to. After I make my bets I NEVER bet any more games. Regardless of the outcomes. Tomorrow is another day.

frankb, you are so right. Today is today and the next day they start singing the National song again somewhere. My buddy is a chaser. I make my bets and there in and thats that. No more no less. Done and in, and go about my day. Used to deal with a service that would win early and then call ya up and try to talk you into taking your winnings and dumping it on a later game. I would say to the guy why is this game worth more now then before. I would tell him, I stick to my unit play and there is nothing you can say that will convince me otherwise. Double down my ass. I am not playing blackjack

                        leadhand

Many work night I go to bed not knowing the results of my wagers. I'll usually wake in the morning, turn on Sportscenter.

Also, I very rarely watch the games I bet on. Far too much aggravation. Such as this past Monday night football. I had the Under and a GB/Under tease. We all know what happened. Two late BS TDs sank both bets.

Had GB and over. and like you have been there on your side before as all of us have at one time or another. I love foots so I watch all the time. Buckets I can't stand to watch a game I am betting on. To much of a roller coaster ride. Go to my computer either late at night or 1st thing in the morning , get the scores and tally it up. Cause it is what it is. Either ya win or ya lose. Plus I got better things to do after my bets are in. We spend enough time during the day doing this, much less spending more strapped in my chair watching the tube. Good talking to ya and not to beat a horse to death, thanks again for your welcome. Your post along with most of the rest have great value to them and you get right to the point and speak your mind. Nothing better than straight and forward, right or wrong ya know exactly were ya coming from. the wussies who say what they think ya wanna hear.

Good Luck and keep it in the plus column. Easier said then done.

                            great post

As a new member to this site it's very encouraging to see posts like this. I've done some lurking in several capping sites before deciding to post here. It boils down to the personality and character of the site and choosing one that suits your style. People shouldn't feel compelled from the moment they first post to deliver winners all the time. Sites like this are about sharing info and comparing notes. Engage fellow cappers in discussion and gain insights into what the reasoning is behind their picks.

All sites will have their star cappers and they deserve the hits and attention they receive. They are usually reliable and experienced bettors. Unfortunately there are many out there who rely solely on these guys to play their picks. People who blindly follow picks that are posted here or anywhere for that matter should realize, it's at their own risk. It's not a substitute for solid capping and faith in your own abilities.

Anyone else out there who may be in the same boat and may be considering a tout . ...don't do it!!!

Ther are too may solid cappers in here who you can learn from and their agenda isn't to take your cash. If time permits, cap a few games on your own. Keep it simple, don't over analyze and compare notes with some of your fav cappers. Pull the trigger on plays that match and hold up and re-evaluate those that don't. You'll be surprised at the results and you won't be throwing away to some shill.

In the end we're all here for the same reason, we love sports and we want to take money from the man!!! Attention grabbing and criticising fellow posters who have a bad night is best left on the sidelines. :D :D :D
Nothing left to do but smile, smile smile!

thanks guys, i know you weren't talking to anyone in particular

but kind of hit me on the head. i think you're always nervous to

be the new guy when there is a tight knit proven group already

there. i just started posting yesterday because i dind't know

anyone and felt like a hinderance, your kind words made me feel

more at ease about doing so.

                              thanks bob
